Please meet Capt. George Dolan, U.S. Navy, who will be one of our guest speakers, and our host on October 17th at the Army and Navy Club in Washington, DC.

A graduate of St. John’s College and a former Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in South Korea, Capt. Dolan has spent much of his career focused on the Indo-Pacific region. His Navy service has included aviation navigation, Foreign Area Officer assignments, and serving as the U.S. Naval Attaché to South Korea from 2019–2022.

His experiences have given him a unique perspective on American service, international relations, cultural understanding, and the role of the United States in the world.

We are honored to have Capt. Dolan join us and look forward to hearing his perspective.

The importance of peace, understanding, and respect in our communities and around the world is non-negotiable. Peace is more than the absence of conflict—it begins with listening, empathy, kindness, and a willingness to understand people whose experiences may be different from our own.

One Identity, many stories. There is no single "Hispanic Experience". There are millions of stories shaped by country, family, language, geography, generation, and more.

A Touchstones discussion is a way to open conversations where we can ask and not assume. Listen and not judge. Make room for shared experiences.

We learn so much more when we take the time to listen!

This September, we’re celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month — a time to honor the rich cultures, achievements, and contributions of Hispanic and Latinx communities across the United States. Ask. Listen. Learn.

“Every moment is an organizing opportunity, every person a potential activist, every minute a chance to change the world.”
– Dolores Huerta
