On March 27, 2025 Sheriff John Carr, Deputy Sheriff Lamibirth and the Prince George's County Office of the Sheriff hosted Tie•ol•ogy with Principal Warren Tweedy of Andrew Jackson Academy which the 100 Fathers, Inc. and other community leaders and organizations participated and led by example to join the young men of Andrew Jackson Academy to fellowship and bond together to teach these 130 young men how to tie a tie plus talk about boyhood to manhood and mentorship.

"When we can show young men how to be better, they will do better."

Black men from the greater Washington area teach boys how to tie a Windsor Knot in a unique rite of passage program at Andrew Jackson Academy.

🚨 It's time for the State of Maryland to step up and be bold and make bold changes, not just continue to sit stagnant and do nothing. The Family Laws in the State of Maryland has been broken for decades and the grade on the National Shared Parenting Report Card has Maryland at a grade of D- which is below average failure. It's time for Shared Parenting for Maryland! 🚨

On Friday February 7, 2025 in the State Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee there was a bill hearing for SB0521 Rebuttable Presumption of Joint Custody (Shared Parenting) with bill sponsor Senator Nick Charles and his expert panel which included myself David W. Smith Sr., Franklyn Malone and Tisha Hillman,Esq.

Us advocates and leaders have been advocating and fighting for this effort and movement of a Rebuttable Presumption of Joint Custody (Shared Parenting) for decades along side the one and only Jill P. Carter "The People's Champ" when she led the effort and introduced the legislation in both the House and Senate. Thank you to Jill P. Carter, Senator C. Anthony Muse and Seantor Nick Charles for their advocacy and leadership plus the advocates and leaders who have been advocating and fighting for the "best interest of" children and families especially fathers across the State of Maryland.

Here is the full bill hearing from Friday February 7, 2025, however if you scroll to the 3:35 start mark you can watch our section of the bill hearing on SB0521 Rebuttable Presumption of Joint Custody (Shared Parenting ) which is about 35 minutes (total time) where you will see our testimony in favor of the bill and then after the opposition and their shenanigans and then questions to the opposition from Senator Charles and Senator Muse.

I share this photo collage from the bill hearing and this bottom left photo I love because prior to our bill hearing and introduction of our bill for a Rebuttable Presumption of Joint Custody (Shared Parenting) about 20+ Girl Scouts entered the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee hearing to watch the process. I mentioned to Senator Nick Charles, look at all these children, I wonder how many of them are missing their mom's and dad's and wish they had shared parenting time with them.

This testimony was in honor of the late David L. Levy and Judge Arthur Burnett Sr. who were pioneers and helped to lay a foundation for children, parents, families, fatherhood and shared parenting.
