The Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence honors and recognizes the histories, cultures, resilience, and contributions of Indigenous peoples and Tribal communities.

We also acknowledge the ongoing advocacy for justice, sovereignty, healing, and safety, while recognizing the disproportionate impact of violence experienced by Indigenous communities, including Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Relatives (MMIWG2S+).

Today and every day, we uplift Indigenous voices, leadership, and community-centered healing while continuing the work toward equity, dignity, and safety for all.

Experiences of violence and trauma can have lasting impacts on emotional and mental well-being, which is why survivor-centered support, community care, and accessible mental health resources matter.

In observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence (MNADV) will be closed on Monday, October 12th, 2026, and will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, October 13th, 2026.

As we observe this day, we honor the histories, cultures, resilience, and contributions of Indigenous peoples and Tribal communities, while recognizing the ongoing work toward justice, sovereignty, healing, and safety.
