We’re thrilled to announce that our Clean Water Montgomery Grant Program is open and accepting applications! 💧

Through funding from the Water Quality Protection Charge, watershed restoration and outreach projects throughout Montgomery County are made possible. This program aims to promote initiatives and projects to improve water quality in Montgomery County’s local streams and waterways through public engagement, education, and on-the-ground restoration.

The collection celebrates our exciting collaboration with Checkerspot Brewing Company and the launch of BAY PL8, a new hazy IPA inspired by Maryland's iconic Bay Plate. Beginning August 22, $1 from every BAY PL8 pint sold will also support the Chesapeake Bay Trust!

🌳 Want to bring more trees to your community? We can help!

The Anne Arundel County Community Tree Planting Mini Grant Program provides funding for projects that increase tree canopy, beautify neighborhoods, and create healthier communities.

Funding available:
📍 Anne Arundel County: Up to $5,000
📍 City of Annapolis: Up to $9,999

📅 Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but we encourage you to apply by:
🍂 October 15 – Fall planting
🌎 January 31 – Earth Day planting
🌷 February 15 – Spring planting

Projects should be submitted at least 8 weeks before planting, with tree plantings taking place between October and May for the best long term success.

Recently, ShoreRivers, Chesapeake Conservation and Climate Corps member Grace Filson hosted this year's cohort for an All Hands on Deck event on Maryland's Eastern Shore!

Corps members spent the morning at the Sassafras Natural Resource Management Area alongside staff from the Natural Lands Project at Washington College, helping maintain a large tree planting site by repairing and resetting tree tubes to support the long-term success of this important restoration project. Through this hands-on work, members saw firsthand how protecting and restoring forests helps improve water quality and build healthier watersheds.

In the afternoon, the group took to the water at Turner's Creek for a guided paddle, making the connection between land-based restoration efforts and the health of our rivers. The day wrapped up with a refreshing swim and a chance to explore one of the Sassafras River's summer highlights, a beautiful blooming patch of American lotus!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible and to all of the Corps members who spent the day learning, restoring, and exploring together!

Beer tastes even better when it gives back. 🍻🌊

Join us Saturday, August 22 as we celebrate the release of BAY PL8, our 6.8% Hazy IPA brewed with Amarillo, Strata, and New Zealand Cascade hops.

Every pint does a little good—$1 from every pint sold will be donated to Chesapeake Bay Trust to help protect and restore the Chesapeake Bay. Plus, stop by to meet the Chesapeake Bay Trust team, enjoy hands-on activities, and check out the beautiful can artwork by Bridget Robey.

The Chesapeake Bay Trust was honored to attend a groundbreaking ceremony in the Town of Emmitsburg, Maryland!

We had a wonderful time celebrating the start of a $5.3 million infrastructure improvement project that will replace the aging waterline and reconstruct the roadway with new sidewalks, storm drainage improvements, bioretention planters, street trees, streetlights, native landscaping and more.
