The mission of the Maryland Estonia Exchange Council (MEEC) is to advance

the friendship of Maryland and Estonia by providing opportunities that enhance

cultural exchanges and strengthen economic, educational, medical, and

political/security links. The purpose of MEEC is to establish and coordinate agreements of

international cooperation between the towns, cities, counties and

governments of Estonia and Maryland that implement and enhance

the above mentioned links.

Annapolis is a Sister City to Tallinn, Estonia. Today Annapolis is celebrating May Day and it is truly magical. Every year, on May 1st, our beautiful city is transformed with colorful arrangements of blossoms and blooms. Containers full of fresh-cut flowers are thoughtfully placed in front of businesses and homes as part of the annual May basket competition. This annual beautification of our city, sponsored by the Garden Club of Old Annapolis Towne, has been an Annapolis tradition since 1956.
