Dr. Kurtinitis is a dedicated leader committed to increasing education equity.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we honor Dr. Sandra Kurtinitis, who has served as President of the Community College of Baltimore County since 2005. Guided by her belief that “Every One Of Us Counts,” her leadership has helped expand opportunity for countless students.
One of her most impactful achievements is championing a tuition-free program that allows students to attend college at no cost—opening doors to brighter futures. Her dedication to education continues to inspire.

Postsecondary learning has become increasingly essential as fewer and fewer jobs are available to people with no education after high school.

As Baltimore County Executive, I secured near-universal access to community college for residents because education is a pathway to opportunity.
