πŸ“’ Parrs Park parkrun – Course Update for Saturday πŸƒπŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

There is currently some fencing and construction work taking place around the Waterhole Swimming Centre area.
βœ… Good news: The parkrun course itself is not affected and Saturday's event will proceed as normal.
⚠️ Please note: The usual gathering area near the start may be a little tighter than normal, so we ask participants to gather around the large tree near the start area for the pre-event briefing at 0750am

As always, please take care when moving around the area and follow any directions from volunteers on the day.
We look forward to seeing our parkrun Kazenz & Cousins on Saturday morning for another great community event! 🧑

Parrs Park parkrun – Saturday 30 May πŸƒπŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

Another beautiful morning at Parrs Park with our amazing parkrun Kazenz turning up, getting up, showing up and starting the weekend the best way possibleπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ
Whether you moonwalked, walked, jogged, ran, volunteered, cheered from the sidelines, pushed a pram, chased a PB or simply enjoyed a coffee and a chat afterwards – thank you for being part of our growing community.

Every Saturday we are reminded that parkrun is about so much more than 5km. It's about connection, encouragement, friendship, wellbeing and belonging.
A special thank you to today's volunteers who made the event possible. Your time and generosity keep Parrs Park parkrun going each week πŸ™πŸΎ
To our first timers, visitors and regulars alike, we hope you enjoyed your morning with us and look forward to seeing you again next Saturday at 8am.

Until then, keep moving, keep smiling and remember...
Finishing is winning! πŸπŸ˜„

🌍 From Parrs Park to the World Stage πŸ‡³πŸ‡Ώ

Every Saturday, people arrive at Parrs Park parkrun for different reasons.

Some are taking their first steps towards a healthier lifestyle. Some are walking with friends. Some are chasing PBs (personal bests). Others are training for their next half marathon, marathon or ultra-marathon.

What they all have in common is that they started somewhere.

One of the great things about parkrun parkrun New Zealand is that it creates opportunities for people to build confidence, consistency and community. Week after week, those 5km add up.

Recently, athletes from across New Zealand represented our country at the IAU 24-Hour Asia-Oceania Championships in Japan πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅πŸ‡³πŸ‡Ώ. IAU - International Association of Ultrarunners, New Zealand Ultrarunners Association - NZUA Athletics New Zealand

Among them was Parrs Park parkrunner Ketina Chivasa demonstrating that big goals are often built through small, consistent steps taken over time.

Whether your goal is to walk your first 5km, complete a milestone, run a marathon, represent your club, or simply enjoy being part of a supportive community, parkrun is a great place to start.

You never know where your journey might lead.
See you on Saturday!
