Exciting news!! Our climate resilience programme in Vanuatu with our partner Nasituan has received Plan Vivo certification 🌱

And what a joy it was to share the news in-person with reps from local communities on Tanna Island 💙

A first for the Tafea Province, and achieved in record time, this achievement is due to the commitment of Nasituan and the communities they partner with, who have invested a huge amount of time and energy into tree planting, land maintenance, forest protection, and the community-led governance of the project.

What does this mean for communities? 👉 Our partner can now generate high-integrity carbon credits from their work to protect and restore land—helping communities generate long-term income while strengthening local resilience to climate change.

We give a special thanks to New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade for their support and funding to make this milestone possible!

Being sponsored as a child through our partner Compassion International gave Jeero opportunities he never thought were possible. "It changed everything about me" he reflects.

Now living in Hawke's Bay, he helps children grow in confidence, develop their potential and know they are valued, just as he did.

On World Humanitarian Day, we’re honouring the churches in Venezuela who have been on the frontlines of the earthquake response from day one bringing:

💧 Safe drinking water to protect families from disease while water sources are repaired

🥣 Baby food and vitamins to protect young children and babies from malnutrition

🎨 Resources like art therapy to help children cope with the trauma

But their work isn’t done yet. More recovery is needed for families in Venezuela to move forward with hope.

Please keep praying for families in Venezuela as they recover. That our local church networks can reach those still in need and feel God’s strength as they go. 💙

We believe the best way to end poverty and tackle injustice is through partners who know their communities best.

Our Tearfund team were so encouraged to hear from Prema (Director of Homes Of Peace and Empowerment - HOPE - our partner in Solomon Islands) during our team devotions this morning!

With Jabez' prayer on his heart, Prema shared the powerful reminder that without God we can do nothing. And as HOPE Trust begins to expand its work into new spaces we continue to pray God's blessing on them too, as they enlarge their territories, for God's glory.

After Venezuela was rocked by back-to-back earthquakes in June, Tearfund New Zealand's incredible supporters showed up generously.

We hoped to raise $100,000 to provide emergency supplies to displaced families. You gave more than $232,000!

That means more help and more hope for Venezuelans still recovering and rebuilding their lives after disaster. Thank you! 💙
