Despite the challenges created by the 2024 landslides in Nepal, Anandaban Hospital continues to look ahead with hope and determination.

Although the original site for the new Research Centre became unsafe, suitable land has now been identified close to the hospital.

This new 1,558m² site offers the opportunity to establish a purpose-built facility where researchers can continue pursuing breakthroughs that could change countless lives.

Imagine what could be achieved through a dedicated Research Centre built alongside the expertise already flourishing at Anandaban Hospital.

Please pray and journey with us as we take this exciting step towards a future of hope, healing, and life-changing breakthroughs. 🔬🏥

📸 Meet some of the faces behind the PHACE (Preventative Health and Community Empowerment) programme!

Recently in Bougainville, LMNZ International Programmes Manager, Jasleen Kler, LMNZ Programmes Manager, Jestine Kuriakose, and representatives from New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade came together with the PHACE teams from Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, and Kiribati to reflect, learn, and plan for the future.

Behind every successful programme are dedicated people working alongside communities, sharing knowledge, and finding solutions that create lasting change.

The stories, insights, and experiences shared during this workshop will help shape the next phase of PHACE, ensuring communities remain at the heart of the programme.

Together, we're building stronger partnerships, healthier communities, and more resilient communities across the Pacific. 🌏💙

🌏 Collaboration across the Pacific for stronger communities!

Our International Programmes Manager, Jasleen Kler, is in Bougainville facilitating a multi-country design workshop with PHACE (Preventative Health and Community Empowerment) programme teams from Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, and Kiribati.

As the Bougainville team shares lessons from the Bougainville Healthy Community Programme, participants are reflecting on what works, learning from one another, and exploring new ways to strengthen community health and wellbeing.

These valuable discussions will help shape the next phase of PHACE (2027–2032), ensuring the programme continues to strengthen community health, resilience, and empowerment across the region.

By listening, learning, and planning together, we're building a stronger foundation for lasting impact. 💙

Aashika is cured, yet still captive to leprosy’s suffering.

Without urgent help, Aashika could face this for the rest of her life, risking permanent disabilities caused by overwhelming inflammation.

Today, you can break leprosy’s grip on young lives like Aashika’s - https://bit.ly/Aashika-26

🚴‍♂️ 874km down. Still peddling.

Paul is currently taking on the Trans Balkan Race, a gruelling 1,400km endurance ride across 10 days, to raise funds and awareness for people affected by leprosy in Nepal.

What a journey it has been for Paul. In just a few days, he's battled dehydration in 35°C heat, climbed relentless mountain passes, ridden through freezing temperatures and torrential rain, and even walked away from a near-collision with a car.

Most people would look at the distance already covered, count the cost, and call it a day. Not Paul.

With less than 24 hours to reach the next checkpoint and nearly 200km still to ride, he keeps pushing forward—one pedal stroke at a time.

No matter what happens next, the resilience, determination, and courage he's shown have been nothing short of inspiring.

As Paul navigates harsh weather, rugged terrain, and limited resupply options, he's experiencing just a glimpse of the challenges many people in rural Nepal face when trying to access medical treatment.

That's why he's riding—to help fund a new ambulance for Anandaban Hospital, making life-saving care more accessible for those affected by leprosy🇳🇵

Please keep Paul in your thoughts and prayers, and consider supporting Paul and this important cause 💛 - https://givealittle.co.nz/fundraiser/cycle-for-hope
