***❤️ HENESSY AND PUP UPDATE ❤️***

Henessy was Life Chained for 4 years and her Pup was Life Chained next to her for 2 years.

Henessy and Pup renamed Buck are now living their dreamlife!!
Huge appreciation to this wonderful family for providing such a lovely caring home for Henessy and Buck.

Both have assimilated so well to living in a home as family members.
The family say they are both so well behaved/relaxed, are learning to play together well and good on their walks.
Buck's paws are slowly starting to heal and his affected skin areas slowly too, his collar area where neck embedment had started is healing also.

Thankfully they were both relinquished before having to spend another winter on their chains.
And thankyou to the home who had initially emergency fostered both.

Unbelievably the new Regulations on Life Chaining are not a blanket ban and despite Henessy and Buck both suffering incredibly as they were these new Regulations would have had little or no impact on their ongoing suffering.

*** WEST AUCKLAND LIFECHAINED DOG ***

The young dog in this video is Life Chained in the 'New Lynn area'.
He has daily howled for months for attention.

Yes SPCA have visited, the dog was unchained for afew days but now rechained.

With over 250,000 dogs life chained/contained in NZ now it will be quite some time before any change is seen.
CDANZ receives so many requests for help weekly and only able to help but afew.

If there is an experienced person in this specific area of neglect who lives in the New Lynn area or a bordering suburb who would be able to commit to ongoing helping this young dog please PM or contact on [email protected]
(CDANZ is happy to explain how access can be gained hence ongoing help for the dog can be achieved).

*** SHADOW UPDATE ***

Shadow had been life chained and his owner was no longer able to keep him.

A Huge thankyou to Hauraki Pound Pups for yelling out for this lovely natured 3 yr old boy to have him out of the pound, along with covering his vaccination, microchipping etc.. and bringing him to his foster care home in Auckland.

Shadow is learning to adjust well to actually living inside a home for the first time. He is good with all people and all other dogs. He is by no means an 'energizer bunny' but a very quiet placid boy and has already learnt the sit command.
Much appreciation to this lovely foster home for helping this truely deserving boy.

If anyone in the Auckland area is able to offer Shadow his forever home (trial to adopt) please PM or contact on [email protected]

And please share as much as on dog/community pages in order Shadow can finally find his special home.

*** TIMMY UPDATE ***

Timmy has now been in the most lovely caring home since late September 25.

The living situation where Timmy has come from is still a very sad ongoing situation, an unsafe and inhumane situation for any dog (or human) to be living as he was.
Much reachout over the last year has happened to resolve the situation at this property however there is no system or entity setup to help with this type of disorder.

Huge appreciation to the family (and their 2 canine housemates) who have shown young Timmy a new lovely life and for caring for him so well in the interim.

Hopefully the situation will be resolved at some stage soon in order for Timmy to continue to live his best life ever.

***❤️ MOXIE ❤️***

Moxie's mum gave birth to her 3rd litter (her first 2 litters she had whilst Life Chained) afew days after coming off her Life Chain.
Thankfully she had this litter at Club K9
Another dog on the property had given birth, these pups were also thankfully saved, along with 4 other Life Chained Husky dogs at this Sth Auckland property being relinquished.

Huge Appreciation to Moxie's caring family for providing her the best Ever forever home.
They say she is a real character and quite funny. She just loves playing and has a great canine house mate. She is doing so well at her puppy training classes. And also is good with the livestock, chickens and the family cat.

There are still 2 of Moxie's siblings ( Moxie look a likes) and pups in care ( half husky) from the 2nd mums litter looking for their forever homes - all lovely natured and socialised.
Please PM or contact on [email protected] if you are able to trial to adopt and in the Auckland area.
And please share as much as on dog/community pages in order these lovely natured pups can find their forever homes.

20 canines as a result of the visit to this Life Chained property in Sth Auckland.

A breeders license ought to be mandatory which would have prevented this lovely breed in the mix having litter after litter for monetary gain whilst Life Chained.

*** BLUEY UPDATE ***

An out of the blue update due to a disturbing situation.

Bluey (relinquished from her Life Chain to CDANZ) is thankfully doing so well in her trial to adopt home.

Bluey's adoption process cannot be completed due to an acquaintance of her new mum offering to help out by taking Bluey into her already booked microchip insertion appointment.
Bluey became stressed, anxious, flighty at this appointment and the chip was unable to be inserted.
So this person took Bluey to another vet unknown, the chip was inserted and Bluey returned to her trial to adopt home.
They then immediately registered Bluey with council in their name.

They now state Bluey is their dog and are going to extraordinary lengths to have Bluey removed from his approved trial to adopt home ie police report, involving public media, and a legal firm.

All relinquished dogs through CDANZ Trust are registered to CDANZ and a change of ownership is done following a successful trial to adopt period.

It would seem this person wanted a dog but was not prepared to go through the standard processes welfare groups and entities follow, hence registering Bluey in their name.

What this person has done is so wrong and is actually fraudulent.
This is wasting valuable time to help further Life Chained.

***❤️ BUCK UPDATE ❤️***

Buck is truely living his dream life with his lovely owner in his best ever forever home.
"The best food, cuddles, he loves his walks and his warm comfy inside bed".
"He is a big goof ball and his smile and attitude to life is truely admirable".
He surely is the love of his owners life.

( Buck had been Life Chained as a young puppy and relinquished in 2024 at 5yrs of age. He suffered fly strike each summer on his life chain).
In Buck's street in Sth Auckland there were a no.of life chained dogs there and many more are suffering there now in 2026.

It is shocking to see these Life Chained dogs inhumane living circumstances in a supposed 1st world country whereby Life Chaining is now generational.
We can only trust with the Amended Regulations some improvement and change will be seen.
