If Jimmy's long weekend plans look better than yours, that's because they probably are. πŸ’€πŸΎπŸ‘‘
A week of hard work, new environments and training outings deserves exactly this β€” a sunny spot, a good long snooze, and absolutely nothing else on the agenda. Happy King's Birthday weekend from our very switched-off golden boy and all of us at Mobility Dogs. πŸ’š

One of the things that surprises people most about Mobility Dogs is just how much they can do around the home. Opening doors is one skill, but our dogs are also trained to tackle drawers, fridges, ranch sliders and cupboards β€” all using a tug rope, and all giving their future partner a level of independence that's hard to put into words. Sonny is getting to grips with it here, and from the look of things, he's going to be very good at it indeed. πŸšͺπŸΎπŸ’š

Between all the focus and the learning, one of the most important things a Mobility Dog needs is the ability to completely switch off β€” to settle wherever they are, relaxed and unbothered by the people and activity around them. Keri has absolutely cracked this, as you can see from those very expressive paws. Libraries, it turns out, suit him perfectly. πŸ“šπŸΎπŸ’š

Watch this boy work. πŸΎπŸ’›
That's Sonny β€” one year and eight months old, walking calmly alongside a power chair in the supermarket, carrying like a pro, completely unbothered by the world around him. He is, in every sense of the word, ready.
After months of training, Sonny is about to be placed with his partner β€” someone who has shared their life with a Mobility Dog before, and who knows just how transformative that bond can be. Sonny is their succession dog, and we couldn't think of a better match.
His trainer wrote these words in a letter to his future partner, and they say everything:
"He is a special boy for his young age. He's incredibly mature, calm, and responsive, and he has shown all the qualities we look for in a future service dog."
To place a dog this young, this settled, this ready β€” it doesn't happen often. Sonny is exceptional, and we have loved every moment of watching him grow.
Go well, Sonny. You are going to be everything and more. πŸ’šπŸΎ

This is what balance looks like. πŸŒ…πŸΎ
Jimmy is learning to be a Mobility Dog β€” and that means busy days, new environments, and a whole lot of focus. But it also means moments like this. A wide open beach, a glowing sky, and all the freedom in the world.
Happy dogs make the best partners. And Jimmy looks very happy indeed. πŸ’š

Even the most dedicated dogs deserve a moment of pure joy. πŸ‚πŸΎ
Mr Darby has discovered autumn leaves and is living his absolute best life. We think he's earned it.
Every Mobility Dog works incredibly hard β€” and moments like this remind us that the happiest dogs make the best partners. Roll on, Darby. πŸ’š

Special delivery for Rebecca. πŸŽ‚πŸΎ
Sonny has gone above and beyond today β€” full Mobility Dogs cap, festive green tutu, and a very important birthday message delivered with great dignity and only a little confusion about the hat.
Happy birthday Rebecca, from Sonny and all of us at Mobility Dogs. πŸ’šπŸŽ‰

The Kirikiriroa Hamilton crew showing up and showing out. πŸΎπŸ’š
Our trainers and puppy raisers gathered for a group training session recently β€” and what a lineup it is. Golden retrievers, black Labs, green jackets, and a whole lot of dedication on display.
This is what it takes to raise a Mobility Dog. We are so proud of every single one of them. πŸ–€πŸ’›

Meet Haylee β€” and yes, that is her name spelled out in kibble in front of her. The fact that she sat there looking adorable without touching a single piece tells you everything you need to know about this girl.
Self-control? Already exceptional. Future? Incredibly bright. πŸ’š

Meet Hana β€” and her very impressive talent for doing absolutely nothing. 🐾

It might not sound like much, but for a Mobility Dog in training, learning to settle calmly in any environment is one of the most important skills there is. Wherever their person goes, they go β€” and they need to be able to switch off, stay calm, and simply be present without fuss.

Hana is, it turns out, a natural.

She's slept through an entire movie at the cinema. She's settled beautifully through meetings without so much as a wiggle. And she's clocked more hours on the gym floor than most of us would like to admit β€” calm, quiet, and completely unfazed by the weights clanking around her.

Doing nothing, it seems, is actually quite hard. Hana makes it look easy. πŸ’šπŸ–€

Could this girl be any more photogenic? We think not. πŸ“·πŸΎ
Tilda visited the vet today for a routine check-up and was, predictably, an absolute star. Calm, still, and looking directly into the camera like she knew exactly what she was doing.
All clear, golden girl. We're so proud of you. πŸ’š
