Child Cancer Foundation Supporting Kiwi kids with cancer and the people who love them. Text CHILD to 3457 for a $3 donation.

Every week in Aotearoa, three families are told the heartbreaking news that their child has cancer. A cancer diagnosis doesn’t just affect the child – all members of the whānau are impacted. For over 40 years, Child Cancer Foundation has been dedicated to supporting them every step of the way, helping them overcome challenges and maintain control of their lives. Each newly diagnosed family is conn

ected with a Family Support Coordinator, who is there to provide them with one-to-one support in the specific areas they need it. We need to raise $7 million each year to continue providing vital support to Kiwi kids with cancer and their families. We do not receive any direct government funding, so we rely on the generosity of our fellow Kiwis to support these children and their whānau through the toughest time in their lives. Better than a century, in our books 🏏

Earlier this year, Weedons Cricket Club played their match in a special edition jersey designed by the club's young members, including Keira D’Arcy and her younger sister Evelyn. They raised funds leading up to and on match day, and sold the jerseys after the game for other families like the D’Arcys.

They also awarded the Foundation one of their special edition jerseys, which is now hanging proudly at our Christchurch Family Place.

A huge thank you to Jeremy Benton for putting on such a meaningful event, and to the D’Arcy family. Your passion is so inspiring 💙💙

We’re absolutely over the moon to hear the news that families caring for children with life-threatening illnesses will receive more specialist support at home, as part of a $15.5 million investment to expand palliative care nationwide.

A statement from the Government yesterday announced that the funding, allocated over four years, will establish dedicated specialist teams in both the North and South Islands.

We’re so proud to have been one of the many voices calling for this much-needed change, along with the voices of whānau in our care and so many dedicated groups across the motu. This announcement marks a huge step towards providing families, who are navigating the unimaginable, the support they need to focus their time and energy on what matters – spending time together, making precious memories.

Three children are diagnosed with cancer, every day, across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. Three families’ lives are turned upside down overnight. 💔

This Magic Round 🏉 all the NRL teams are working together to Kick for a Cause, and raise vital funds for childhood cancer. And we’re proud to be one of the charities these funds will go to, to support tamariki with cancer and their whānau.

Child Cancer Foundation and the Starship Foundation are the two Kiwi charities teaming up with the One NZ Warriors to do our part in raising the NRL’s goal of $1,000,000, to be shared across all eleven charities. 🙌

So please, if you can, help us make a difference for kids on both sides of the Tasman. 🌏
