What a weekend 💛 The Halberg Games South 2026 highlights are here! 💫

From big sporting moments and new challenges to plenty of laughter, friendships and celebrations, it was a weekend full of moments to remember.

Our athletes gave it their all across two incredible days, showing determination, courage and plenty of Halberg Games spirit along the way 🙌

Wairarapa All Abilities - Play Your Way

This partnered event is all about creating opportunities for young people who might otherwise miss out!

Developed in collaboration between Kia Hākinakina and the Halberg Foundation, it’s a chance for rangatahi aged 5–21 years with a disability to come along, try different sports, and have some fun. 🏃‍♀️🏀🏸

Sir Murray Halberg believed every young person should have the opportunity to experience the joy, confidence and connection that sport can bring.

That belief continues today 💛💙

The Sir Murray Halberg Legacy Award, in partnership with Cityfitness, recognises an individual whose contribution has made a meaningful and lasting difference to disabled young people through sport, recreation or play.

🔵 It could be a coach.
🔵 An advocate.
🔵 A programme leader.
🔵 A volunteer.
🔵 A person who saw barriers and decided to do something about it.

Who is carrying that legacy forward? Nominate them for the Sir Murray Halberg Legacy Award.
