Food.
Water.
Electricity.
Antibiotics.
Anaesthetics.
Surgical materials.
All of these essentials are desperately needed to help people survive in Gaza—and yet aid continues to be blocked.

More than two months into the complete Israeli siege of Gaza, more than two million people remain trapped. With more than 70 per cent of the Gaza Strip declared a “no-go zone,” and with no supplies being allowed in and electricity and water cut, many are now facing intense hunger and starvation.

This deadly blockade cannot continue.

🔴 Today, MSF’s hospital in Old Fangak, South Sudan, was bombed.

The pharmacy was destroyed. All medical supplies lost. There are reports of people killed and injured.

This was the only functional hospital in the area, providing lifesaving care to more than 110,000 people.

Stop the bombing. Protect civilians. Protect healthcare.

As Israeli forces resume and expand their offensive on Gaza, Palestinian lives are once again being systematically destroyed.

"Gaza has been turned into a mass grave of Palestinians and those coming to their assistance,” said Amande Bazerolle, MSF emergency coordinator in Gaza. “We are witnessing in real time the destruction and forced displacement of the entire population in Gaza. With nowhere safe for Palestinians or those trying to help them, the humanitarian response is severely struggling under the weight of insecurity and critical supply shortages, leaving people with few, if any, options for accessing care."

Head of Programs Simon Eccleshall says the IDF's blaming of poor visibility and operational failures for the killing of 15 Palestinian medics and emergency workers is "appalling."

On the evening of 8 April, MSF teams in Al Mawasi clinic, southern Gaza, received an influx of nine people after a strike hit 300 metres away from the facility. Two were dead on arrival, including a two-year-old boy, the seven others were wounded.

“The team was in a state of shock,” says Dr Mohammed Shaath, MSF emergency doctor. “Honestly, I can’t describe the scene and the injuries. In the stomach, head and chest. Absolute horror.” Only Dr Shaath and two nurses were at the clinic at the time of the incident.

Since 18 March, Israeli forces have intensified operations in Gaza, issued evacuation orders, and expanded the buffer zone inside the Strip’s borders, including near our clinic. For safety and continuity of care, MSF was forced to cut staff on shift in some facilities, including Al Mawasi, to one third.

The lack of adequate security provisions and protection from Israeli military strikes put humanitarian workers and our teams at imminent risk. The facilities where we work are notified to all parties. We call for the respect and protection of healthcare facilities, patients and staff.
