MASC - Massey Amateur Swim Club has just wrapped one of their best seasons in years. 78 swimmers, 19 weekly sessions, the biggest intake of kids in six years.

The club is run by parent volunteers and coaches in Massey, who've been at it for over 40 years.

This season, a stack of local supporters chipped in (pool hire grants, equipment donations, sausage sizzle hosts, clubrooms for prizegiving) and we were proud to add gift cards to thank the volunteers who keep the whole thing running.

It takes a village.

Kia ora MASC Whanau!

Our AGM and Prizegiving last week, marked the completion of the season.
'Thank you' to our favourite local Football Club West Coast Rangers FC for providing us with the clubrooms to host the night. We are so appreciative of your support these last few years.
'Thank you' to our attendees! We reached our quorum and broached a number of different items covering the clubs current status and its direction and ALL IS POSITIVE!
There are a few other 'Thank you's' I wish to address:
* To the Committee, you're an AMAZING BUNCH! I have no words to describe how much I appreciate you :)
* To our volunteer Coaches, assistant Coaches and parents/kids that help out regularly on Club nites, 'Thank you' as without your help, we just would not be!
* To our donors/supporters, we would like to thank Mega 10 Lincoln Rd, Bunnings Warehouse Westgate, NorthWest Shopping Centre, The Trusts, Akarana Community Trust, The Trusts Community Foundation, and Rebel Sport. SUPPORT LOCAL WHANAU!
* To Farooq Usman and Carla Bonnici - both Farooq and Carla brought us into the 21st Century. Farooq with the application he created with signing in and also timekeeping. This cut our administration by half! And Carla, with her 'amazing' content, video reels on our page - we've received so much more exposure! Many thanks to you both.

And last but not least, 'Thank you' to our parents who commit every week, to look for goggles, togs and bring their Tamariki out every Wednesday club night.

Have a blessed break over Winter. We will add posts we think are important, but more or less start to pick things up again around August/September. See you later in the year!

We are incredibly proud of all our MASC swimmers this season. The progress, effort, and commitment across the board has been amazing to see.

To celebrate, we’d love you to join us for our AGM and Prizegiving.

Just like that our season has come to an end and what a season it's been!
What a great bunch of tamariki/whanau and of course we wouldn't be here without our incredible organizers and coaches, you are ABSOLUTELY amazing! prize giving information will be out shortly so keep your eyes peeled and save the date 29th April

MASC whānau

Club Champs is on over the next 2 weeks

Club night is on tomorrow night and we’ll be starting setup from 6:30pm. It would be really great to have some extra hands to help with setup and timekeeping!

Races will begin between 6:45 and 7:00pm and we will aim to get our younger swimmers through first off we can.

A few important reminders for Champs nights
• Each lane needs 2 timers, one using the app and one with a manual stopwatch
• Parents are not able to time their own child
• Please bring warm clothes and extra towels while swimmers are waiting

We also need all trophies returned this week if not already returned too please!

There are no lessons for the next 2 weeks as it is Club Champs
Swimmers can only take part in champs races if they have completed 4 sessions of each stroke otherwise they're welcome to come along and race to beat their fastest time, all welcome!
Race nights are this week and next
25 March and 1 April

Hi MASC whānau,

Just a quick update for tomorrow’s swim night. We’ll be using the session as a chance for swimmers to make up any missed laps.

We’ll begin the afternoon session with a short briefing about how club nights will run, so please gather at the seating next to the pool when you arrive.

If you’re unsure whether your child has completed 4 laps of each stroke, please check in at the front table and we’ll let you know what they need to do. We’ll also have two dedicated lanes set up just for make up laps.

Hi MASC families,

With lots of swimmers away at school camps over the next few weeks, we have decided to move our Champs races so more of our swimmers can take part.

Champs will now take place on 25 March and 1 April.

On 18 March we will likely run a catch up night for swimmers who still need to complete their four races of the same stroke to qualify for Champs. This will give everyone a chance to get their qualifying swims done.

More details will be shared closer to the night, but please keep these new dates in mind.
