A huge thank you to Happy Rescue NZ for having space for our beautiful Miss Autumn and giving her a safe place to land. Rabbit rescue spaces can be incredibly difficult to find, so we’re especially grateful that you were able to welcome her.

We’re so relieved that Miss Autumn has gone from a stray on the streets and into a safe, caring environment. Thank you for providing her with the care, comfort, and kindness she deserves as she begins this next chapter. 💛🐰

One of the highlights of the Auckland Pet & Animal Expo was meeting Cory and seeing the amazing handmade enrichment products created for rabbits and guinea pigs.

Our rabbits absolutely loved the tunnels and hides, and expo visitors did too. In fact, the corner guinea pig hides and hay managers sold out incredibly quickly! We're already organising more stock and will let everyone know when they are available. These items will be pick-up only due to their size.

🐾 Pet Expo Raffle Winner & A Huge Thank You! 🐾

What an amazing weekend we had at the Auckland Pet & Animal Expo 2026!

It was wonderful meeting so many animal lovers, sharing stories about our rescue animals, answering questions, and spreading awareness about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited our stand, made a donation, purchased merchandise, entered our raffle, or took the time to learn more about Auckland Cavy Care Rescue. Your support means so much to us.

We’re also incredibly grateful to our volunteers, foster carers, supporters, and everyone who helped before, during, and after the event. We couldn’t do it without you. ❤️

All go at the Auckland Pet Expo! 🐹🐰

Come and say hi to us while you explore all the amazing stands here at the expo! There are lots of stands to visit, with plenty of pet-related products, treats, goodies, and friendly exhibitors to check out. 🐾

At our stand, you can buy piggy cage items, cute goodies for humans, 2027 calendars, and yummy cupcakes. Everything is vegan, and we also have one gluten-free batch available. 🧁📅

Our boy buns, Pipkins and Bipkins, are here happily chilling in their run. You can also meet our three chinchillas, plus our two lovely piggies, P***o and Sunny, who are both looking for their forever homes. 💕🐷

Come along, meet the animals, browse the stands, grab some goodies, pick up a 2027 calendar, and support Auckland Cavy Care!

Wow thank you to those who donated towards the 49.5kg of pellets we have just received from The Bunny Bach 💓 and for Bronwen and Adelaide for transporting the pellets and hay donations!

49.5kg of pellets donated to Auckland Cavy Care!!

Thanks to Helen, David, Pip, Sheven, Charlotte, Karen, Alison, Vicky, Rebekah and Chelsea for their generosity and time to make the order! Anymore that come in will still be sent, their code does not expire - this is an ongoing initiative for the rescues.

I’m hoping this will mean Cavy care don’t have to worry about pellets for a while 🙂 what a huge weight lifted for them.

Thanks to Bronwen and son for being so kind to collect the pellets from us.

We also donated around 100kg of hay to keep them going. Thanks to Adelaide as always, ready to help, by dropping the hay to them.

Now that’s a real team rescue effort! Love it!

For years, Te Puna Kararehe has supported Auckland Cavy Care, and we’re incredibly grateful for your continued kindness and generosity.

Foster homes give guinea pigs a calm, safe and loving environment while they settle in, recover and wait for their forever homes. Fostering also allows us to help more animals when our rescue spaces are limited.

We truly appreciate Te Puna Kararehe and their students for standing alongside Auckland Cavy Care over the years. Your support helps us continue rescuing, caring for and rehoming animals, giving them the comfort, safety and second chances they deserve.

🚚 Transport help needed, please

The Bunny Bach is very kindly donating hay to Auckland Cavy Care, and we’re looking for someone who may be able to help transport it from Farm Cove to Three Kings.

If you have enough space, there are also some bags of pellets that could hitch a ride too.
