🏑 Know your Asthma and COPD Triggers πŸ’™

Cold, damp homes, exercise, dust and mould can be common asthma triggers during winter β€” but small changes at home and in your daily routine can make a big difference.

🌬️ Open your windows during the day for fresh airflow
🧼 Watch for dampness and mould build-up
πŸ”₯ When exercising or playing sport, warm up properly and carry your reliever inhaler with you
🏠🧹 Vacuum with a HEPA filter machine regularly and damp dust weekly to reduce dust mite count
😟 Stress and anxiety can also trigger asthma symptoms β€” remember to check in on your wellbeing this winter

Knowing and managing your asthma and COPD triggers can help support healthier breathing this winter.

πŸ‚ End of autumn feels…
This time of year, we hear from a lot of people living with asthma who say:
β€œI get through autumn okay… but winter hits hard.” πŸ’™
The truth is, autumn can mask what’s coming β€” symptoms creep in slowly, routines slip, and we just keep going.
Sometimes awareness is the first step to action.
As we head into winter, now is a good time to pause and check in on your respiratory health.
And remember β€” if you need support, Asthma NZ is here for you.
