Auckland Touch is pleased to announce that Muru Thompson, has joined the team and he will have a lead role in Governance. Muru proudly brings his whakapapa from Te Rarawa, Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, Ngāti Ruanui and Ngāruahine.

Muru and the Thompson whānau have a long-standing history with the Auckland Touch community and are still active members making a tangible difference to people, growing and developing the game of touch from grass roots to National and International elite level.

Awesome hui today with the Auckland Touch Association Board.

It was great to come together and reflect on the 2025/26 season, celebrating what we’ve achieved while also taking an honest look at where we can continue to grow and improve.

A big part of today’s discussions focused on shaping our new three-year Strategic Plan and thinking about how we can continue to create positive opportunities for our players, whānau, volunteers, officials, and clubs across Auckland.

There’s plenty of work ahead, but it’s exciting to be part of a Board that is passionate about the future of our game and committed to making a difference for our touch community.

Looking forward to the journey ahead.
