Wiri Business Association

Wiri Business Association We support businesses, owners and staff in the Wiri Business Improvement District They also have access to our support.

Representing local businesses, we deliver services such as security, events and training alongside support such as networking, introductions, problem solving and knowledge sharing. Property or business owners who pay rates in our area, are automatically members of our Wiri Business Association and benefit from our full suite of services (see our website for more information). Outside of our rateab

le area, businesses can join us as Associate Members and get included in all events and networking. Membership forms are available on our website or you can contact us directly. Established in 2006, in response to escalating criminal and anti-social behaviour in the region, and demand for co-ordinated business networks, the Wiri Business Association now represents the largest physical potential for commercial/industrial development.

Unfortunately our business district is looking a little worse for wear at the moment. If you have a free hour, we'd love to do a bit of a clean up!

We’ve got some great events coming up, and our GM Gary has taken a few minutes to share why he thinks they’re worth putting in your calendar.

Two in particular that we’d love local businesses to get along to:

🥞 Networking Breakfast with Justin Flitter:

A great opportunity to explore how AI is changing the way we work, do business and create opportunities.

🈺 Business in Conversation with Hon. Cameron Brewer, Minister of Small Business, Minister of Manufacturing.

An opportunity to hear directly from Hon. Cameron Brewer and engage in conversation around the issues that matter to our business community.

👉 Check out Gary’s video and make sure you’re registered for the events you don’t want to miss!

Are you an eagle, dove, owl or peacock?

At our lunch and learn this week, attendees learnt about personality types and how to use them to improve communication.

The Wiri Business team found out more about personality types - Gary and Diana are the doves and Michelle is an Eagle.

If you want to learn more about personality types and improve your own communication, check out the next issue of WiriLink coming soon!

A big thank you to our trainer, Vivienne Broderick from Training Matters and to The Sebel Auckland Manukau for hosting us.

Auckland manufacturer Sowndra Rajan Palanisamy has warned that small factories are nearing breaking point as costs rise and imports undercut local production. He has urged the government to provide practical support to protect jobs, skills and local industry. His appeal highlights a growing crisis across New Zealand’s small-business economy, where many enterprises are focused not on growth but on survival.
