In 2026, the Catalytic Foundation proudly supported Southland Youth One Stop Shop.

📍 Southland

Our grant contributed to monthly parking fees for six work vehicles.

In its accountability report, the team shared:
• Vehicles enabled staff and young people to travel to mentoring activities throughout the community.
• Young people’s programme self-assessments showed average improvements in physical wellbeing, relationships and resilience.

Thank you to the team and volunteers for the care and commitment they bring to their community.

Our accountability reports have been due recently. This is a time for charities to share how they spent the money we granted them in 2026.

We will be highlighting a different charity we have supported every day for the next few weeks.

First up is Skills4Living!

💙 Supporting parents, strengthening families in Manawatū–Horowhenua

Parenting support can give families practical tools, encouragement and someone to work alongside them.

Our 2026 Catalytic Foundation grant contributed to the wage of a family support worker at Skills4Living, helping the organisation continue providing the Triple P positive parenting programme and one-to-one support tailored to each family’s needs.

Skills4Living reported that between 101 and 250 people benefited from the grant. Their report also shared how parents put new approaches into practice and made positive changes at home.

Thank you, Skills4Living, for walking alongside families and helping them build on their strengths.

We are stocking up on lunch boxes and drink bottles today thanks to a sale at Woolworths New Zealand!

We will add these to backpacks along with a filled pencil case to help kids in hardship attend school prepared to learn.

We just need to track down 30 more drink bottles for older children and we will be able to fill 85 backpacks!

If you would like us to fill a backpack on your behalf for a child in need, donate at catalytic.org.nz

We are proud to support the Long Bay Okura Great Park Society new public awareness campaign calling for stronger action to stop sediment from construction sites entering Auckland’s waterways and the Hauraki Gulf.
“Cover It Up. Stop the Mud. Save Our Gulf.” focuses on a simple preventative measure: covering exposed soil on construction sites before rain can turn it into sediment-laden runoff.

We are so grateful to Meridian Energy for our electric van. It has made it so much easier to pick up donations from businesses that support our programmes, including The Big Warm Up and the Christmas Shoebox Project.

Two central Auckland non-profits are driving towards a greener future with new decarbonisation grants from Meridian.
