Sunday 1 March 2015
Kiara’s Angel Walk will be held on Sunday 1st March 2015. Kiara’s Angel Walk is a 2km & 7km gentle walk or cycle around the picturesque Te Ara Tahuna (Orewa estuary) walkway to raise funds for the Child Cancer Foundation in memory of Kiara Morgan. The Walk is also both pushchair/stroller & wheelchair friendly. OUR INSPIRATION
Kiara’s Angel Walk is inspired by Kiara Morgan, a
little girl from Orewa who was first diagnosed with a rare and incurable malignant rhabdoid tumour in her left kidney at the age of 4 months old. She was a very special girl who lit up the hearts of everyone she was in contact with. Throughout her life of treatments she never complained, she shared her amazing and infectious smile with everyone. Sadly, Kiara lost her courageous battle with cancer at home in the arms of her family on 24th October 2011 just before her 5th birthday. Read Kiara’s story here: www.kiaramorgan.wordpress.com
