Introducing MDS Support UK.

We’re excited to share an important milestone in our journey.

Following a year of reflection on who we are, what we stand for, and how we can best support everyone affected by MDS, the MDS UK Patient Support Group is evolving into MDS Support UK.

While our name and visual identity are changing, our purpose remains exactly the same: ensuring that nobody affected by Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) faces their journey alone.

Our new identity reflects the heart of what we do: providing support, information, and connection for patients, families, loved ones, and caregivers across the UK.

✨ Our Mission - We are the voice of MDS, shaped by lived experience and strengthened by clinical expertise.

As the UK's only charity dedicated solely to MDS, we empower people and their families to understand their diagnosis, find clarity and confidence, and access the support they need at every stage of their journey.

Over the coming months, you'll start to see our new logo, colours, and branding across our communications, events, and resources as we prepare to launch our new website early next year.

A huge congratulations to everyone who took in the Great South Run last weekend for ! 🎉🏃

We know what a challenge this event was, and we're incredibly grateful to each and every runner who chose to support MDS UK. Whether you were running in honour of a loved one, a friend, or someone affected by MDS, your efforts will help us continue supporting patients, families and carers across the UK.

A special thank you to Matt and Sam for sharing their photos from the day and helping us celebrate this fantastic achievement.

Today is MDS Awareness Day.

Most people have never heard of Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) until it affects them or someone they love.

For many people, the journey to an MDS diagnosis starts with symptoms that are hard to explain, followed by appointments, tests and the uncertainty of waiting for answers.

Then comes the reality of living with MDS. The symptoms that aren't always visible. The impact on everyday life. The emotional challenges that can come with navigating a rare blood cancer.

Alongside those challenges, there is support. Support from family and friends. From healthcare professionals. And from others who truly understand because they've walked a similar path.

At MDS Support UK, we're here to make sure nobody has to face MDS alone. We provide trusted information, support and connection for people affected by MDS across the UK.

This MDS Awareness Day, we're asking you to help shine a light on a condition that remains largely unknown, while standing with everyone living with MDS and those who care for them.

⛳ What a fantastic day at Wellow Golf Club!

We're delighted to share that the recent charity golf day raised an incredible £1,850 for MDS Support UK.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated, and helped make the event such a success. Your support will help us continue providing information, support, and advocacy for people affected by Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS).

A special thank you to the team Wellow Golf Club for hosting the event and helping to create such a memorable day.

It was also great to see our new MDS Support UK branding featured on the event t-shirts as we continue our transition to our refreshed look.

🥬 A huge congratulations to our amazing runners who took on the iconic Cabbage Patch 10 Race 10 in Twickenham!

As a proud charity partner of the event, it was fantastic to be there cheering everyone on and seeing the incredible determination, energy and community spirit that made the day so special. From the start line to the finish, every runner helped raise awareness and vital funds to support people affected by MDS.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who ran, fundraised, donated and supported our team. You are helping us continue to provide information, support and a voice for the MDS community.

We're also incredibly grateful to the Cabbage Patch 10 team for their continued support of MDS UK and for organising such a brilliant event.

One donor can change a life.

Nikola Dolphin-Rowland's story highlights the life-changing hope a stem cell transplant can bring.

For our MDS UK Patient Support Group community, this message is especially close to home. For some people living with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), a stem cell transplant can offer the possibility of long-term remission or cure.

Behind every transplant is a person, a family and a future of hopes and dreams.

Pleas read and share to help raise awareness of the importance of stem cell donation and the hope it can bring to people living with MDS and other blood disorders.

Mother-of-three Nikola, from Leicestershire, who was diagnosed with a rare cancer 28 years to the day she found out her son had leukaemia, is urging people to join the stem cell donor register.

As race day approaches, we wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you and wish all our incredible supporters the very best of luck.

Whether you've been training for months, fitting runs around a busy schedule, or taking on a personal challenge, every step you take is helping to raise awareness and support for people affected by myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS).

We know how much dedication goes into preparing for an event like this, and we couldn't be more grateful that you've chosen to run for MDS Support UK.

Most importantly, enjoy the experience, soak up the atmosphere, and be proud of what you've already achieved. No matter the finish time, you're making a real difference to our community.

A huge congratulations and thank you to Katy Henderson and Siobhan Hoy! 👏

Katy and Siobhan recently completed the Edinburgh Kiltwalk, taking on an incredible 21 miles in support of MDS Support UK and raising more than £1,400 so far.

Their fundraising is inspired by Katy's mum, who was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) in June 2026 following treatment for breast cancer. Faced with yet another difficult diagnosis, she continues to show incredible strength and resilience every day.

Wanting to turn a challenging time into something positive, Katy and Siobhan are taking on a series of fundraising events to raise awareness and vital funds for people affected by MDS. Every mile they walk is for Katy's mum, for other families facing MDS, and for the hope of a better future.

And they're not stopping there! 🏃‍♀️

They've already signed up for their next challenge, the Glasgow Kiltwalk in April 2027, and will continue fundraising for MDS Support UK every step of the way.

From everyone at MDS Support UK, thank you both for your incredible support, determination and kindness. You are making a real difference to people living with MDS and their loved ones.
