There is increased concern at this time of year about safety in and around water, especially in light of a number of recent tragic events. We therefore wanted to remind our community about the importance of PSHE education in raising awareness of the risks and highlight free-to-access, quality assured resources that you can use to teach this topic safely and effectively.

📢 Our new AI lesson plans are here, and any member who downloads them gets free access to our on-demand CPD course ‘Teaching about AI: Chatbots, deepfakes and manipulated images’.

AI impacts on various aspects of children and young people’s lives and futures, so it’s crucial they have a foundational understanding of how it works and what risks it might pose.

It’s also crucial that teachers know how to teach about this topic with confidence, especially since teaching about the risks of AI chatbots and deepfakes will become a mandatory part of the RSHE curriculum for secondary schools from September.

Our new KS2-4 lesson pack and on-demand CPD course will give you and your school everything you need to teach this topic effectively, and cover all relevant statutory requirements.

New research shows that 72% of young people have used AI companions, or ‘chatbots.’

While many young people may use chatbots out of curiosity, as a practical tool or to combat loneliness, we also know that in many cases, chatbots have risk built into their design.

For example, chatbots have been seen to provide users with unsafe advice, to promote stereotypes through their responses, and have been designed to agree with users without basis to promote engagement.

As part of our AI literacy programme (launching next week!) we have produced a KS3-4 lesson on how chatbots affect relationships.

This lesson will help pupils to understand what AI companions are — including how chatbots use data to mimic human interaction — as well as the impact they can have on relationships and wellbeing, and strategies to manage their responses.

Follow us or sign up to our mailing list to make sure you’re the first to know when the lesson pack is released – and become the most confident teacher of AI in your school 👇

It's Mental Health Awareness Week! This year’s theme is Action.

Strong mental health education is all about reducing stigma and equipping pupils with strategies to take action to support their wellbeing and that of others.

This is why Foundations for Wellbeing, our fully-resourced mental health primary curriculum, promotes emotional literacy and a range of practical self-regulation strategies, informed by the latest evidence of what works.

Through engaging activities, pupils learn how to manage their emotions, develop positive thinking habits and build their emotional vocabulary.

We know that one-off lessons have limited impact on learning. That’s why Foundations for Wellbeing is designed to be taught right from KS1 to KS5 as part of your school’s carefully sequenced PSHE education curriculum.

Take action to support your pupil’s wellbeing now by using our fully-resourced 'Foundations for Wellbeing' and 'Wellbeing for Life' curriculums and the suggested activities for learning.

It’s 2026, and it feels like AI is everywhere, all at once — including in our classrooms.

This poses unique challenges for PSHE education as we grapple with the various ways it is affecting different aspects of children and young people’s lives.

To support our members, we’re launching an AI literacy programme for key stage 2 to 4 (Understanding AI: Rights, safety and wellbeing) later in the month.

Come along to our free webinar on 20 May (4pm) to hear from AI Policy Expert Morgan Briggs and learn more about what you as a teacher need to know about these technologies, including new statutory RSHE requirements and the role of PSHE in helping young people to stay safe and navigate this fast-moving landscape. https://hubs.la/Q04fW-2W0
