New reporting from The Guardian , developed with evidence and case studies gathered by Carers UK reveals that unpaid carers have been unable to stop Carer’s Allowance payments despite informing the DWP of a change in circumstance meaning that they are no longer eligible for the benefit – leaving an ever-growing worry of potential debt hanging over them.

A highlight of Carers Week was our annual parliamentary event. We had fantastic engagement with 90 MPs and Peers hearing directly from unpaid carers about the challenges cares face, the support they urgently need and the importance of building carer friendly communities.
