Thank you for being patient with us yesterday whilst we closed to go on a special tour of 10 Downing Street.
We were invited by MP Olivia Bailey Olivia Bailey MP, Reading West and Mid Berkshire for the community work we do as a small business.
It was a memorable day. We were late for 10 Downing Street (don’t ask!) but we made it. We learnt so much about the history of the building, the people who have visited and lived there, the politics! Stroked Larry the cat. Sat around the Cabinet Room table. Fascinating to see this side of politics up close.
I wanted to say a special thank you to Olivia’s staff, Ruth and Max, you made it really special for all of us. Thank you Max for taking my kids and their aunty Tuck on a private tour of the Houses of Parliament, you really inspired them. And Ruth, it was an absolute pleasure to meet you, you made the day special.
Now, back to business. Thank you in advance to Olivia for talking to us soon in more depth about how the budget and policies that affect us.
And a massive thanks to our customers… yesterday made me realise how much we’ve all been through in the last 6 or so years of Dee Caf. You guys have supported us all the way, you’ve inspired us to keep going and be better. When so many people dismissed the cafe, dismissed me, saying it’ll never work. Well, thanks to you guys we’re still here and we’re going strong and we have so many ideas to make us even better!
