A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came to celebrate the amazing achievements of the girls at our Awards evening today.

Huge congratulations to everyone especially Toni-Ann who was awarded our Do You Best trophy and Carys who was awarded her Brigader Broach.

It is always so special to reflect on what we have done over the last year and come together to celebrate this. This year was made even more special as we recognised 100 years of our GB group. That is 5 generations of girls and young women who have been challenged, mentored, supported, championed and inspired through some of the biggest events in world history - World Wars, the Great Depression, changes of monarchs, the tech boom, the millennium, the covid pandemic and much, much more!

Big thank you have to go to all the leaders who have served across the last century, giving so generously of their time to develop the next generation. We are especially thankful to Zoe Rose, Cath Dickson, Kay Pennycott, Steph Allan, Rachel Warner, Gina Allan, Skye, Hannah and Jess for everything they do currently with the current generation of girls we are privileged to have. Who knows who the leaders of tomorrow will be?

For now the summer brings a chance for us all to rest and come back refreshed in September for more fun together. We look forward to seeing you all in September!

The badges are all organised, the certificates have been written, the trophy is engraved and the cakes are made ready for us all to enjoy the celebrations of our Awards evening tomorrow. We are looking forward to celebrating everyone’s achievements and commemorating the fact that this is the 100th year of our GB group!

What better way to cool off than some messy games in the park? With everything from egg rolling, water and foam based team games, egg catch and water catch there was certainly a lot is mess but also a lot of fun!

Looking forward to rounding off our year with our Awards evening next Friday back at Emmanuel Methodist Church.

*** 🌡️Heatwave update - GB cancelled 🌡️***

As the red weather warning has been extended until 9pm on Friday evening to ensure that leaders and girls remain safe we have taken the decision to cancel GB for this week.

We hope to be back enjoying activities in the park next week - 3 July.
