Founded in 1957, the club has experienced the evolution of filmmaking from cinefilm to modern digital techniques and is keen to welcome a new generation of members interested in flexing their creativity as amateur film and content creators.

‘You don’t have to be an experienced filmmaker to join, simply come along and take part, try filmmaking as a new hobby and get to know a like-minded community

of budding filmmakers. The more you do, the more you will learn, which will help you bring your own film ideas to fruition’, says Chairman, Oli Seaman. ‘Fellow members often assist each other with their film productions.’

Our next Reading Film and Video Makers session is on Documentary Filmmaking with Alan Sinclair.

In this session, Alan shares his approach to documentary filmmaking, focusing on his work in the Far North of Scotland and Nova Scotia, Canada. This includes his blended use of drones and 'traditional' film techniques.

Brilliant talk last night from one of our longest serving members, Brian.

It was wonderful to hear about how the group has developed over the last 30 years, and it's impact upon Brian.

We have one more session left on Tuesday 24th June before finishing for the summer. This final session will be our film competition with guest judge and local videographer, Hugo Tickler.

Chris talked about his professional work with music and sound. We were also treated to some exceptional video examples.
