Site walk with Council officers
Barkham Parish Cllrs recently met with Wokingham Borough Council officers and Borough Cllr Adrian Betteridge to walk around the development and review issues raised by residents.
There has been good progress on the issues list compiled by the Parish Council, including completion of the Sheerlands Road crossing and removal of redundant developer signage.
The walk included the footpath between Bohunt School and Hazebrouck Meadows. While fallen panels have been removed, the remaining structure is in very poor condition. The Borough Council will raise this with the developer as a matter of urgency and request its removal.
We also discussed the village green area. Very good progress is being made, but the new footpaths will not connect to Hazebrouck Meadow for some time. The Borough Council agreed to ask the developer to consider opening a temporary route for use once the village green is completed.
Following a suggestion from the Borough Council, we will begin publishing a monthly update of the issues list so residents can track progress and raise additional concerns.
If you are aware of any issues that need attention, please let us know so they can be included in future updates: [email protected]
