👏 A huge thank you to our Deputy Chair, Ashley, for all of your hard work yesterday at the Portsmouth SEND Local Offer Live event at Mountbatten Centre. 👏

It was fantastic to hear that the event was so busy and such a great success. Ashley did an amazing job representing Dynamite alongside MAKE at Aldingbourne Enterpriseand Gig Buddies Portsmouth, helping to raise awareness of the importance of co-production and the voices of young people with SEND.

📢 Dynamite in Schools! 📢

Yesterday, Dynamite visited local schools to introduce co-production and share some of our recent and ongoing projects.

It was fantastic to meet and have discussions with students from Mary Rose Academy and Redwood Park Academy. The students shared their ideas, experiences, and thoughts on how services can be improved for young people with SEND.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part. We loved hearing your voices and can't wait to come back and work with you again on future projects!

🚌💙 Dynamite Meets with Transport Leaders to Improve Bus Accessibility 💙🚌

At our June Dynamite meeting, we welcomed representatives from Portsmouth City Council, First Bus and Stagecoach to discuss how public transport can become more accessible for young people with SEND and disabilities.

Our Chair, Abbie, led the discussion and shared Dynamite's proposal to explore anti-slip materials in wheelchair spaces to improve safety on buses. Members also discussed bus shelters, accessibility information, mobility scooter permits, driver awareness, and ways to make travel more inclusive.

We were pleased to hear about upcoming improvements across Portsmouth, including new accessible bus shelters, updated information screens, enhanced audio and visual travel information, and new Travel Officers who will support passengers across the city.

The meeting also sparked exciting ideas for future projects, including travel training, Easy Read travel guides, disability awareness resources, and a visit to the Hilsea Bus Depot.

A huge thank you to our guests for taking the time to listen to our members and work with us to create more accessible transport for everyone. 🙌

🚨 DYNAMITE MEETING ALERT! 🚨

Join us on Wednesday 3rd June, 6pm–8pm at MAKE, Fratton for what promises to be an exciting and important Dynamite meeting!

🚌 Representatives from Stagecoach, First Bus and Portsmouth City Council will be joining us to discuss wheelchair accessibility on local buses and hear Dynamite's proposals for making travel safer and more accessible.

🚆 We'll also be welcoming Jonny and Kyle from MAKE at Aldingbourne Enterprise Community Group, who will be sharing plans for an exciting new travel training programme that young people will help co-produce.

💬 This is your chance to have your voice heard, share your experiences, and help make a real difference in Portsmouth.

🏊‍♀️⭐ Dynamite Young Inspection – BHLive Charter Community Sports Centre ⭐🏀

A huge thank you to BH Live Charter Community Sports Centre for welcoming our Young Inspectors, Abbie, Lucy and Steven, for a recent inspection.

The team were impressed by the friendly and welcoming staff, calm atmosphere, accessible website, and the range of activities available, including the pool, sports hall, gym, and outdoor spaces. The quieter environment made the centre feel particularly SEND-friendly and a great place for young people to feel comfortable and confident.

Our inspectors also shared some ideas for improvements, including easier-to-find accessibility information on the website, automatic doors, and exploring SEND-specific fitness and wellbeing sessions in the future.

Thank you to Carla and Tasha for making us feel so welcome. We look forward to working together again soon! 💙
