URBOND Youth Development Programme Driving opportunities, wellness and success for children and young people.

The programme offers young people guidance on key topics such as education and career paths, which, in tandem with the URBOND sport programme, occupies them in positive endeavours, expanding their horizons and leading them in the right direction to become successful adults. Additionally, the scheme has been devised to work collaboratively with both members of the community and local partner organi

sations to tackle the root causes of issues and promote more positive activities and opportunities for young people in Portsmouth and the surrounding areas. The fundamental objective of the URBOND Youth Development Programme is to support young people and to provide them with the best opportunity to fulfil their potential (particularly those within settings where issues, such as crime, are prevalent).

Last week, six of our young people had the fantastic opportunity to take part in three days of work experience with GRP Solutions.

Throughout their time with GRP Solutions, they spent time with teams across Procurement, Internal Sales, Finance, Quality Control and the Warehouse, learning about the different roles involved and getting stuck into activities along the way.

Alongside this, they worked in two teams on a product marketing challenge, developing a launch campaign for a new GRP Solutions product. From creating a product name and brand identity to developing key selling points, promotional materials and social media ideas, they had the opportunity to put their creativity and commercial thinking into practice.

The three days finished with these incredible young people presenting their campaigns to the GRP Director and team, talking them through their ideas and answering questions about the decisions they had made.

What an amazing way to wrap up Victorious Festival!

As we reach the final day, the URBOND team are reflecting on a fantastic festival filled with great conversations, new connections and plenty of opportunities to network with local organisations, supporters and members of the community.

Victorious once again has been an incredible experience, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to Victorious Festival and the entire team for the warm welcome, fantastic hospitality and all the hard work that goes into making such a brilliant event happen.

It’s been a pleasure being part of it, meeting so many inspiring people and building connections across our local community.

Here’s to the conversations, collaborations and partnerships that come from events like this!

6.3 Elite are your URBOND Basketball Summer League Champions! 🏀

What an incredible 4 weeks of competition, passion, teamwork and determination. We are extremely proud of these incredible young talents for giving everything and staying engaged throughout summer.

A special thank you to the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth for being present to witness, providing refreshments and celebrating this fantastic achievement with us.

We were delighted to welcome Councillor Chris Attwell, Portico and Lakeside North Harbour to URBOND to see first-hand the impact of their support.

Through Portsmouth City Council’s social impact approach, our partners at Lakeside generously donated desks, chairs and office equipment to support our work here in Portsmouth, as well as our Child Education initiative in Guinea.

The furniture will help equip our URBOND centre and community projects, while a significant amount will be shipped to our school in Koutaya, Guinea, which we opened last year to give children in the local community access to education closer to home.

A special thank you to the team at Portico for working so hard to make the logistics of getting the furniture to Guinea possible, and to Lakeside North Harbour for their incredibly generous donation.
