๐ฃ๐ฆ What an incredible day at the Crabbies Community Crabbing Event! ๐ฆ๐ฃ
This weekend, Angling Spirit hosted a truly fantastic community event from Portchester Sailing Club, set against the stunning backdrop of the historic Portchester Castle.
Before the crabbing even began, volunteers came together for a shoreline clean-up around the harbour and foreshore. Thanks to their hard work, a significant amount of rubbish was collected and removed, helping to protect the local environment and create a cleaner, safer space for both wildlife and the community.
Hundreds of children and families then joined us for a day of fun, learning, and unforgettable memories by the water. It was amazing to see so many young people experiencing the excitement of crabbing, discovering local marine life, and connecting with the outdoors.
We were delighted to welcome staff from The Wildlife Trust, whose knowledge, enthusiasm, and support helped make the day even more special. Their involvement gave families a wonderful opportunity to learn more about our local environment and the wildlife that calls it home.
Adding to the excitement, the BBC were on hand throughout the event, filming for an upcoming documentary that will showcase the positive impact angling, conservation, and outdoor activities can have on communities and young people.
Events like this demonstrate the power of angling to bring people together, inspire the next generation, and encourage people to care for the environments we all enjoy. A huge thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, supported, and helped make the day such a tremendous success.
Together, we caught crabs, cleaned shorelines, learned about nature, and created memories that will last a lifetime. We can't wait to do it all again! ๐ฃโค๏ธ
