💙 FROM CHEMOTHERAPY TO THE AMSTERDAM MARATHON! 🏃‍♂️

What an incredible achievement! 👏

This weekend, Charlie crossed the finish line of the Amsterdam Marathon in an amazing 3 hours, 22 minutes and 6 seconds! 💪

687 days ago, Charlie received his final chemotherapy treatment. Today, he has completed his first marathon. A journey that once seemed impossible when he first tried running after chemotherapy has become a moment he will remember for the rest of his life. 💙

Charlie has spoken openly about the highs and some incredibly dark lows along the way, and how running has helped him work through those challenging times. His determination, resilience and strength are truly inspiring, and we couldn't be prouder to have him as part of the It's On The Ball family.

But that's not all! Thanks to Charlie and the incredible generosity of everyone who has supported him, £1,345 has already been raised for It's On The Ball, with Gift Aid and company donation matching expected to take the total to an incredible £1,800–£1,900! 🤯💙

This money will help us continue our vital work raising awareness of testicular cancer and supporting men affected by the disease.

Charlie, from everyone at It's On The Ball, a HUGE thank you. Thank you for sharing your journey, for your determination, and for turning such a personal challenge into something that will make a real difference to others. ❤️

💙 A BIG THANK YOU TO KESGRAVE SIXTH FORM! 💙

This morning, we took our testicular cancer awareness message back to Kesgrave Sixth Form – and we think this was our 5th visit in 5 years! 🎉💙 It’s fantastic to keep returning and spreading this important message to the next generation of young people.

We talked about the signs and symptoms of testicular cancer, why early detection matters, and how taking just a few minutes each month to check yourself could potentially save your life.

Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young men, particularly those aged 15–35, yet many still don't know what to look out for or how to check themselves.

That's why visits like this are so important! 🙌 By raising awareness and encouraging open conversations, we hope to empower more young people to take control of their health and feel confident seeking medical advice if something doesn't feel right.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone at Kesgrave Sixth Form for welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to speak to your students. 💙

The event brings together a range of organisations offering free health support, advice and services to the local community.

We’ll be there to raise awareness of testicular cancer, share information about the importance of checking yourself regularly, and help break down the embarrassment that can stop men from talking about their health.

Testicular cancer is most common in younger men, but early detection can save lives. Knowing what’s normal for your body and checking yourself regularly could make all the difference.

💙🏃‍♂️ IT’S MARATHON WEEKEND FOR CHARLIE! 🏃‍♂️💙

This Sunday, Charlie will be taking on the Amsterdam Marathon in support of It’s On The Ball – Testicular Cancer Charity! 💪💙

But this is about so much more than running 26.2 miles…

In 2024, Charlie was diagnosed with testicular cancer after noticing something didn’t feel right. Hearing the words “you have cancer” turned his world upside down, but thanks to early detection, he needed surgery and just one round of chemotherapy.

During his treatment, Charlie received one of our chemotherapy support packs. Now, he’s giving back by taking on his first ever marathon! 👏

After chemotherapy left him feeling exhausted and weak, Charlie turned to running to rebuild his strength and fitness. Now, he’s ready to take on this incredible challenge to show just how far he’s come since his diagnosis.

Charlie said:

“As daunting as a marathon is, it feels like the perfect event to really challenge myself, to prove that I am now fitter and healthier than before my cancer diagnosis and to hopefully help spread awareness of Testicular Cancer.”

💙 Making connections, raising awareness and inspiring the next generation! 💙

Last Friday, we were delighted to attend the annual Charity Showcase at the UEA School of Chemistry, Pharmacy and Pharmacology, meeting pharmacy students and fellow charities to share the work we do at It's On The Ball.

It was fantastic to have the opportunity to talk about our mission to raise awareness of testicular cancer, educate young people about the importance of checking themselves regularly, and support men affected by a diagnosis. 🎗️

Events like this are about so much more than volunteering. They're about sharing experiences, breaking down barriers and helping future healthcare professionals understand the real people behind the conditions they will one day treat.

🤝 We loved connecting with the students and discussing how they can make a difference in their communities, whether that's through volunteering, supporting local charities or simply helping to spread awareness.

A huge thank you to the team at UEA for inviting us, and to all the students and organisations who made the event such a success!

Together, we can help create a future where more young men know the signs of testicular cancer, feel confident checking themselves and seek help when something doesn't feel right.

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who joined us at The Cottage last night for our monthly It's On The Ball quiz! 🧠⚽️💙

We're absolutely delighted to announce that we raised an amazing £293.20! 🙌💙 Thank you to everyone who came along, took part, bought raffle tickets and helped us raise money for our work supporting men affected by testicular cancer and raising awareness across our local community. Every pound really does make a difference! 💙

🏆 Congratulations to Team “Novinophobics” who stormed to victory with an impressive 140.5 points! 🎉👏 Fantastic quizzing!

🥄 And commiserations to Team “No Thank You” who had the dubious honour of taking home the IOTB wooden spoons! 😂 Better luck next time, team!
