Rotary Club of Norwich St Edmund Welcome to the Rotary Club of Norwich St Edmund. We are a group of friendly, fun-loving people who enjoy working together to help others in need in the world.

If you are thinking of joining us, please do get in touch at [email protected] Welcome to Norwich St. Edmund Rotary Facebook profile. Thank you for visiting us and whether you’re a visitor, Norwich/Norfolk resident, existing
Rotarian, or someone who is interested to find out more about Rotary, then we are keen
and eager for you to be able to do that. Rotarians (people who are members of Rotary) are a group of enthusiastic individuals from
a diverse range of backgrounds who gather to make a difference to our local, national and
international communities. We do this by sharing our time, talents, professional skills and
creativity. Through networking opportunities, we make connections with local schools,
charities, businesses, help achieve a sense of fulfilment and build long lasting friendships. Our services are all voluntary and represent the Rotary motto of ‘Service Above Self’. An example of how this is achieved is our ten-day Christmas Tree Festival held in the centre
of Norwich where local businesses are invited to sponsor and decorate a tree either
publicizing their own industry or promoting a charity. The public are invited to visit the
Festival, enjoy viewing the trees, chat to Rotarians who are present and make a donation, if
they wish. All the money raised will go to charities. By joining Rotary individuals become part of a 1.4 million members in 35,000 Clubs
worldwide, so plenty of opportunity to become a person of action!

Our first ever reading group gathering which was a great success. It’s a great way of getting to know people by hearing their views and listening to each other. Rotary is about working together to do good in the world, so facilitating a book group is a great way of making that a reality.

How many Rotarians does it take to count a pallet of tin food? Well the answer is questionable! Eleven of us visited the Norwich Foodbank this afternoon to hear of the valuable work they do and help weigh the pallets of tinned food. Huge congratulations to Hannah for all the work she and her team do to help people.

The Rotary Club of Norwich St Edmund is delighted to publish an update on the work which has been funded at Muda Primary School in Zimbabwe to build a much needed new roof on one of the school's two teaching blocks. The roof is now on and a fantastic, cool new space has been created for the staff and children at the school to use to facilitate their learning. A wonderful outcome for all!
