🤝 Caring can sometimes mean missing out on clubs, activities or time with friends.

Many carers struggle to take part in community activities because of their caring responsibilities.

That's why young carers groups matter — giving young people a chance to connect, have fun and know they're not alone.

According to Week only 46% of young carers leave school with five GCSEs, compared to 60-65% of young people without caring responsibilities.

We believe that all young carers should have the same opportunities to thrive in education. That's why we work with local schools and professionals to ensure young carers are supported.

According to a new report from Carers Week 44% of carers do not feel their role is understood and valued by their community. ⚠️

We work with schools to ensure that local communities understand the challenges carers face and that young carers receive the support they are entitled to.

This year Carers Week is all about building carer friendly communities.

Carer friendly communities are places, spaces, services and community groups where unpaid carers are recognised, understood, and valued. They make support part of everyday life ensuring carers get the opportunities and help they need.

Together we’re building carer friendly communities that support carers in every area of their lives.

We need your help — and it won't cost a penny! 🛒💙

Our Time Out Together project has been selected for the Tesco Stronger Starts in-store vote — and we'd love your support!

Time Out Together gives young carers aged 5–18 across Norfolk a much-needed break during the school holidays — activity days, new friendships, and precious time to just be kids.

If you shop at any of these Tesco stores in and around Norwich, simply drop your blue token in our box:
📍 Grove Road Express · Norwich Extra · Harford Bridge Superstore · Magdalen Road Express · Wroxham Road Express · London Street Express · Cringleford Express · Earlham Road Express · Plumstead Road Express · Unthank Road Express · Westlegate Express · Aylsham Road Express · Wales Road Express · Dereham Road Express · Cromer Road Express · Poringland Express

Voting runs from today, 28th April to end of July 2026 🗳️

Please share this post — every vote makes a real difference to Norfolk's young carers! 💙

We're proud to support Young Carers Action Day!

This year focuses on 'Fair Futures for Young Carers'.

Combining caring with other responsibilities can be very overwhelming, but we believe that every young carer deserves to have the same opportunities for growth as their peers.

Today, our colleagues from The Benjamin Foundation are at College and you can also meet our team at Hellesdon High. 🤗

Wednesday 11 March is Young Carers Action Day.

Organised by Carers Trust, the goal of this annual event is to raise awareness of the challenges young carers face and encourage action. 📆

This year's theme is 'Fair Futures for Young Carers' - calling for action to ensure that young carers have the same opportunities to learn, grow and thrive as their peers, with the right recognition, support and chances to reach their potential.
