Last chance to visit Dragon Hall in 2026! 🐉

The last day for drop-in visits this year will be Monday 26 October. Until then, our Literature House is free to explore every Monday, 10am–3pm.

We'll then be taking a break for autumn and winter, but there's still plenty to look forward to! We’ve just announced our exciting programme of live events, heritage tours, family activities, workshops and more.

Last month, we returned to The London Library to celebrate the Escalator New Writing Fellows 2025/26! 📚

To conclude their Fellowships, the ten writers presented excerpts from their fiction manuscripts to a supportive audience of friends, family, agents, and publishers. We're really proud of everything they've achieved and how much they've grown with the help of their mentors over the past year.

On 8 September 2026, we were delighted to welcome Taiwan's Culture Minister, Li Yuan (李遠), and a distinguished delegation to our literature house to sign a new Memorandum of Understanding with the National Museum of Taiwan Literature.

The agreement marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the relationship between Norwich and Taiwan. The first initiative sees Taiwanese added as a new language strand in National Centre for Writing's Emerging Translator Mentorships programme this year.

Calling all lower KS2 teachers, librarians, and teaching assistants!

We’re delighted to be running the East of England’s Reading Teachers = Reading Teachers programme, joining a nationalwide community of teachers aiming to inspire a love of reading.

Starting in November 2026, we'll meet online six times over the coming year to discuss five carefully selected books for young people aged 7–9 years.

The entire programme is free to access, including books and resources. All you need to do is register your interest by Thursday 29 October to get involved!
