The pig industry relies on the blood of pregnant horses.

Pregnant mares are kept on ‘blood farms’ and are repeatedly, forcibly impregnated so their blood can be harvested for PMSG - a hormone used by the pig industry to manipulate mother pigs’ reproductive cycles and increase litter sizes.

Blood farms operate in countries including Iceland, Argentina and Uruguay. Their product ends up in pig farms here in the UK.

It’s another example of how animal agriculture treats animals as production units - extracting whatever it can from their bodies to produce more animals, more ‘meat’ and more profit.

And while these practices are horrific, the problem isn’t simply that animals are being treated badly. The problem is that we’re treating animals as commodities at all.

There is no ‘ethical’ way to exploit animals for profit.
Animals are not products. They are individuals who deserve to live for themselves.

You choose what you pay for every day.
Choose vegan.

We need more cafes like Watershed! 💚🐮

We spoke to the team at Watershed in Bristol, who are trialling oat milk as their default.

They told us: "We're very conscious of our carbon footprint... we all care about animals and the environment here, and the dairy industry is one of the most exploitative businesses. It's nice to make this change for the animals as well."

BREAKING: Beagle puppies rescued from MBR Acres 🚨

Yesterday, activists rescued at least three beagle puppies from MBR Acres in Cambridgeshire. They will never see the inside of a laboratory.

MBR Acres breeds around 2,000 beagles a year to be sold for animal experiments. Thousands more are still inside.

Thank you to Camp Beagle and everyone who won't stop until MBR Acres is shut down for good.

Does this horrify you?

At Mere Farm in Lincolnshire, we witnessed piglets killed by thumping.
Sick mother pigs beaten, kicked, stamped on and dragged.
Injuries and infections left untreated, and dead piglets left to rot in filthy, sodden pens.

If this horrifies you, the answer is to stop paying for it. Pigs don't need better farms. They need to be left alone.

We just hit 10 oat as default trials! 🌾

It started with one café in April. Five months later, cafés across Bristol, Brighton, London and Nottingham have made oat milk the default.

Every café that switches, even for a trial period, means fewer people choosing dairy without even thinking about it. That's how oat becomes the new normal, one conversation at a time.

Huge thanks to our partner Minor Figures for backing every trial with oat milk, signage and support. And to everyone who's nudged a café to get involved, this wouldn't happen without you.
