Forward and Faith exists to call the Church of England back to her Catholic roots with a vision for unity and truth. Wilfrid and S.

Forward in Faith is an association of Catholics and Evangelicals
- female and male, young and old - seeking to renew the Church in the historic faith. We are committed to the catholic faith as the Church of England received it, and to proclaiming it afresh in this generation. We uphold catholic order and the catholic doctrine of the sacraments, and in particular the threefold ministry in historic succession, which the Church of England shares with the Church throughout the world and across the ages. We long for the visible unity of Christ's Church, and especially for communion between the Church of England and the rest of the Western Church. For these reasons, we are unable in conscience to accept the ordination of women
to the priesthood and episcopate. We are working, through the Society under the patronage of S. Hilda, for an ecclesial structure with a ministry and sacraments in which we can have confidence, so that we can flourish within the Church of England and make our full contribution to its life and mission.

Very grateful to Alison Milbank and Emma Thompson for their kind invitation to the launch of Save the Parish's vocations report in Westminster this afternoon. One of the topics under discussion was the essence of Anglicanism for imparting to ordinands and others. The words of Archbishop Geoffrey Fisher spring to mind, spoken within living memory: "We have no doctrine of our own - we only possess the catholic doctrine of the catholic church enshrined in the catholic creeds, and those creeds we hold without addition or diminution. We stand firm on that rock."

Today's Pilgrimage for Healing & Renewal, held in the grounds of the Anglican Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham under the theme of Mary cause of our joy, has experienced both very well attended liturgies and fine weather. In his sermon, the Bishop of Fulham reminded us of the tranformative power of the story of Jesus's healing of a paralysed man recounted in Luke 5: 17 - 26. Our thanks go to all at the Shrine for a wonderful day of devotion and friendship. Our Lady of Walsingham, pray for us.

August has begun and so it must be the Youth Pilgrimage in Walsingham. Fr Ben Jennings is pictured at this morning's Mass preaching on the theme of joy with specific reference to the gospel passage on the wedding at Cana. Our Lady of Walsingham, pray for us!

Delighted to be in Comper's masterpiece of St Mary, Wellingborough for the See of Richborough's Summer Festival at which Fr Harri Williams, Principal of St Stephen's House, Oxford is preaching. Please pray for the witness of The Society in the Diocese of Peterborough and also for the work of St Stephen's House. Today is a busy day and so our thoughts are also with the See of Beverley as its clergy and people gather in York Minster and later in All Saints, North Street, and with the Lincoln Society parishes as they make a day pilgrimage to the Shrine in Walsingham.

It is a privilege to be present with Fr Robert Garnett as he celebrates his First Mass in Worksop Priory this evening. Fr Garnett was ordained to the sacred priesthood by Bishop Stephen of Beverley yesterday afternoon. A grant is being provided from funds generated by Forward in Faith Scotland to enable Fr Garnett - who lived and trained in Scotland - to acquire some of the clerical clothing he requires. Please pray for Fr Garnett, for Fr Spicer the parish priest, and for all the faithful people of Worksop Priory.

It is a great privilege to be in Lincoln Cathedral for the Richborough Corpus Christi Festival. During Mass, Bishop Luke will confirm 11 candidates - one of whom will be baptised and one of whom will be conditionally baptised. Please pray for the Diocese of Lincoln, its Cathedral, and the clergy, people, and parishes of the See of Richborough

A full church was delighted to welcome the Bishop of Richborough to preach and celebrate at the Society of Our Lady of Egmanton's May Devotion today. Bishop Luke reminded us that we are called, like Mary, to be magnifiers of God's love.
