A large rigorous UK multicentre RCT at King's College London, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King's Maudsley Partnership and University of Southampton with Samuele Cortese funded by NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research), Medical Research Council and NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) found that trigeminal nerve stimulation- the only medical device cleared for ADHD children by the FDA based on a small pilot study- is not effective for children with ADHD. The paper is published today in Nature Medicine. It is so important that negative findings get highlighted in high impact journals so that patients, families and clinicians don’t waste their time and money on non-effective treatments and researchers can focus on those that work.

‘For You With You’ ADHD, is a new app that offers tools and support for managing symptoms of ADHD all in one place.

Developed in collaboration with people living with ADHD, heath care professionals, and researchers, and initiated and funded by Takeda UK, this app provides personalised tools, resources, and helpful reminders to support everyday life.

The debate around ADHD, in the media, medical and scientific worlds, is reaching new heights. While the existence of autism on a spectrum is now widely accepted, understanding of the ADHD continuum lags behind.
