KJM Statement: Safeguarding, Life & Responsible Policy
The Kingdom Justice Movement expresses serious concern following recent parliamentary support for proposals to decriminalise abortion in England and Wales.
This is not a partisan issue. It is a question of safeguarding, ethical clarity, and how our society protects the most vulnerable.
KJM believes that human life carries inherent dignity from its earliest stage. Public policy should reflect both compassion and responsibility—ensuring that support for women is strengthened while safeguarding frameworks remain clear and accountable.
We are concerned that full decriminalisation risks:
• weakening safeguarding oversight
• reducing institutional accountability
• shifting the balance of policy away from both life protection and structured support
True compassion must go beyond policy change. It must include:
• practical support for women in crisis
• access to mental health care
• strong social and community support systems
We call for continued parliamentary scrutiny, careful consideration of long-term societal impact, and a commitment to policies that protect both dignity and institutional integrity.
Those seeking to engage further can support constructive advocacy through established organisations such as the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC), alongside responsible policy dialogue.
