Congratulations 🎉

His Majesty King Charles has announced this week his Birthday Honours List 2026, celebrating change-makers across the UK including figures from the music and arts worlds.

Delighted to see conductor Paul McCreesh was awarded CBE for services to Music and Music Education and his leadership of the Gabrieli Consort & Players. McCreesh is also known for his pioneering recordings of Renaissance and Baroque music.

The British composer Roxanna Panufnik was granted OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire), for her “services to Music and to Charity.” A highly regarded contemporary composer, Panufnik’s high-profile commissions include writing a new choral work for the 2023 Coronation of King Charles III.

This time last year JJ had just completed the second leg from the Isle of Man to Lichfield via the North West, North Wales and Shropshire of his cycling challenge. Whilst the challenge is now complete we’re still celebrating the incredible people JJ met along the way.

Nurturing the next generation of leaders and advocates for cathedral music will strengthen the sector. Through our Future Leaders Programme, young volunteers are given the opportunity to contribute fresh perspectives while developing valuable skills in administration, communications, fundraising and cultural leadership.
