We are looking for volunteer marshals to help at Beckenham Fireworks Display! 🎆

This event is run by the 5th Beckenham South Scout Group and is a brilliant evening that helps to raise money for local charities. For every volunteer who signs up and represents The Maypole Project as their chosen charity, a portion of the profit will be donated to us!

💙 Today is World Mental Health Day 💙

Today, we’re talking, listening and supporting better mental health together.

At The Maypole Project, we provide emotional support to children and young people with complex medical needs, and their families.

A diagnosis can have a ripple effect, impacting the whole family emotionally as well as physically. While doctors and hospitals support the physical side of a child’s health, we’re here to support the emotional side.

We create a safe space where children, young people and families can talk, be heard and find ways to cope with the challenges they face.

This year’s theme is “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change” — a reminder of how important it is to listen to people’s experiences.

A huge GOOD LUCK to all of our fantastic runners taking part in Sunday's Royal Parks Half Marathon! 💪👟

Thank you for all of the endless hours of training and fundraising, we hope you are able to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy every minute! 💜

We will, of course be out on the course cheering on , to keep those spirits high as you make it around the beautiful 13.1 mile course. If anyone would like to come and join us we will have our purple cheer point located near to the Hyde Park Corner entrance, just before mile 6 and just after mile 9, accompanied (as always) by the fantastic Pengenista Drummers to bring all the vibes! 🥁

They always bring such a fantastic vibe and help encourage so many runners to keep pushing on, especially our wonderful runners!

🏃‍♀️ Meet Jessica, our 2027 TCS London Marathon runner! 💜

We’re so excited to introduce Jessica, who will be taking on the London Marathon 2027 in support of The Maypole Project. She’s currently fundraising towards her
£2,200 target — and she’s already off to a fantastic start!

As part of her fundraising journey, Jessica recently took on The Big Half Marathon, one of two events she’s completing for us ahead of next year’s London Marathon. We’re thrilled to share that she has raised almost £400 from this run alone! 🎉

Jessica is incredibly passionate about supporting The Maypole Project, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what she achieves as she continues her fundraising journey.

A huge thank you to Jessica for taking on this challenge and helping us make a difference for the families we support 💜

Join us for a wonderful afternoon of live jazz, performed by the Bromley Jazz Collective Big Band, with special guests Johns Blues Busters — all in aid of The Maypole Project! 💜

🌿 A huge thank you to the brilliant team from Calfordseaden Orpington! 💚

Last week, a fantastic group from their team spent an afternoon volunteering at The Maypole Project office, getting stuck into 'Project Garden' and making a HUGE difference!

Our garden and entrance had become rather overgrown over the summer, so the team tackled the weeds, cut back bushes and plants, cleared the space, and helped us identify areas that need some extra attention. They even sanitised lots of boxes of toys used in our play therapy sessions! 🧸✨

We’re hoping to transform our garden into an additional sensory space, connecting with our sensory cabin. We’ve applied for funding for new decking to make the area safe and accessible, and this tidy-up brings us one step closer to making those plans a reality. 🌱
