Huge congratulations to ANDYSMANCLUB on the launch of the Longest Conversation Day! 💬💙

From all of us at the Blue Ribbon Foundation, we just want to say how proud we are to stand behind such a powerful and important initiative.

Today, August 27th, 2025, the heart of London — Paternoster Square — takes place for something truly meaningful: a 12-hour live event that turned up the volume on men’s mental health in the best way possible.

Why 12 hours?
Because that number carries weight — it represents the average number of men lost to su***de every single day in the UK. This event was a tribute, a call to action, and above all, a life-saving conversation.

Throughout the day, ANDYSMANCLUB transform the square into an open-air living room, hosting a constant stream of:
🎙️ Live podcasts and interviews
🎤 Performances and powerful conversations
👥 Experts, influencers, and public figures — including Danny Aarons, Joshua Fletcher, and Survivor winner Matthew Haywood — all coming together to say:
👉 “It’s okay to talk.”

The event is completely free, open to everyone, and live-streamed so that no one had to miss out — no matter where they were.

ANDYSMANCLUB continues to lead by example with their nationwide, free peer-to-peer support groups for men aged 18+. What they’re doing is more than raising awareness — they’re changing lives, communities, and the culture around mental health.

To the entire team: thank you.
You made space for men to speak, to listen, and to be heard. And that space? It matters more than words can say.

You can head over to YouTube now to view the live stream including today’s events.

We’ve Been diving into 101 Essays That Will Change The Way You Think and it really does what it says on the cover. 📖

Some chapters hit hard like learning how to stop taking things personally, why you should measure your life by how much fun you’re having, or how self-sabotage shows up in ways we don’t always notice.

As men, we’re taught to push through, but this book reminds me that mindset is just as important as muscle. 💭

Who else has read it? Which chapter stayed with you the most?

Young people today find themselves at greater risk of facing poor mental health, the data clearly shows this.

They face increased financial pressures, uncertainty, and a lack of access to quality and timely mental health support.

As the mental health crisis for young people continues to worsen it is vital that we ensure that the mental health of young people is given the attention it deserves.

If you’re a young person or know a young person who needs some support, help is available, click the link in our bio 💜

Ever punched a wall or object? 🥊
The University of Manchester is running a study to better understand men’s experiences with wall and object punching — what motivates it, how it’s understood, and what support could help.

If you’re a man aged 18+ and have intentionally punched a wall or object in the last 6 months, you could take part in a 60-minute interview (online or in person). Participants will be reimbursed for their time.

📧 Interested? Email: [email protected]

This study has ethical approval and will involve sensitive topics, including self-harm.

Next week we’re putting a spotlight on men’s health — but first, let’s start with a bigger picture that affects us all.

📊 Obesity in the UK – The Numbers We Can’t Ignore
• 1 in 4 British adults are obese
• 62% of adults are overweight
• Obesity rates have tripled in 30 years
• By 2030, we could see 11 million more obese adults

The ripple effect is huge:
⚠️ 7 million diabetes cases
⚠️ 6.5 million heart disease & stroke cases
⚠️ 500,000 additional cancer cases
💷 £48 billion/year in health & social costs

Small daily changes really can make a big difference — for our health, families, and future but don’t worry we’ll be sharing tips to help you along the way.

This Month, we’re making choices that feel good! How about this week adding a bit more intention to how you move throughout the rest of August?

Here’s a simple week-by-week you can implement to keep things grounded:

Week 1 – Rest & Reflection
→ Journal for 2 mins, take a solo walk, cut back on the scrolling, aim for better sleep.

Week 2 – Movement & Good Food
→ 3 workouts (short ones count), cook something decent, try a new class or stretch.

Week 3 – Connection & Joy
→ Reach out to a mate you haven’t spoken to, plan a low-key hang, do something just for the fun of it.

Week 4 – Presence & Travel
→ Take a day trip, step away from screens for a bit, or just sit with your own thoughts.

It doesn’t have to be deep. Just consistent.
Come back to yourself this month.

What Men Can Learn from the Lionesses?

England’s Lionesses did something historic — again.
Back-to-back Euro wins. First senior England team to do that abroad. Ice-cold under pressure. It wasn’t just impressive. It was instructive.

This wasn’t just a moment for women’s football — it was a moment for all of us.

Sport, But Smarter

Watching this squad, the way they move, support each other, stay calm when it matters — makes you think. Tactically sharp. Emotionally grounded. Totally focused.

It’s not about men vs women. It’s about how high-performance sport is evolving. And honestly? There’s a lot in the Lionesses’ approach that men’s teams (and men in general) could take on board:
• Playing as a unit, not a bunch of individuals.
• Showing composure without ego.
• Being emotionally resilient and open.

Chloe Kelly putting away a penalty at 110km/h with the game on the line? Pressure handled.
Hannah Hampton stepping up in the shootout? Calm, collected.

Health, Not Just Headlines

That’s why at Blue Ribbon, we believe it’s crucial to highlight this moment and demonstrate how women in sport can positively influence men’s sports. We aim to shift the narrative surrounding well-being, self-care, and masculinity.

How many of us have been taught to push through pain, to ‘man up’ and never ask for help? While that mindset may work for a brief moment on the pitch, it doesn’t serve us in life.

This Isn’t Just a Women’s Win

The Lionesses’ win is for everyone. It’s proof that:
• Inclusion makes teams stronger.
• Emotional intelligence isn’t soft — it’s essential.
• The future of sport is collaborative, resilient, and mentally aware.

Let’s celebrate the win — and also learn from it.
