As children head back to school, HealthProm is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic volunteer to support our Saturday English classes for Afghan and Ukrainian children aged 6–12.

The class runs from 1–2:15pm on Saturdays, usually around three times per month, with outings taking place on the remaining Saturday.

No formal teaching qualifications are required - we're looking for someone who enjoys working with children and would like to make a difference. ❤️

If you're interested, or know someone who might be a great fit, please get in touch or share this post!

0 maternal deaths recorded in our project villages.

Before HealthProm began working in Kaldar, Afghanistan, village women recorded an average of approximately 16.5 maternal deaths per year.

Today, through our community-based maternal health programme, women are supported with antenatal care, birth planning, emergency transport, clean birth kits and access to local Community Health Workers.

Maintaining zero maternal deaths is one of the most significant achievements of the programme - and a powerful reminder of the difference that accessible healthcare can make.

Thank you to everyone who supports our work. ❤️

Happy International Youth Day! 🌍

Today we’re celebrating the young people who inspire us with their resilience, ideas and determination to build a better future.

At HealthProm, we work with refugee and asylum-seeking communities in London, supporting young people through education, English and Maths tuition, wellbeing activities, creative sessions and opportunities to build confidence and connections.

Our work also reaches young people in rural Afghanistan, where we provide health education, literacy, numeracy and practical skills opportunities for young people.

Every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, feel supported and reach their potential - wherever they are in the world.

This International Youth Day, we celebrate their voices and their potential.

We recently enjoyed a wonderful day out at the Tower of London with members of our Ukrainian community. 💙💛

The visit gave everyone the opportunity to explore one of London's most famous landmarks, discover its fascinating history, see the Crown Jewels and spend quality time together. Days like these are about so much more than sightseeing - they help people build friendships, feel connected to their local community and create happy memories.

We are incredibly grateful that this visit was made possible through HealthProm's membership of the Community Access Scheme, provided by Historic Royal Palaces. Since becoming members in 2024, the scheme has enabled us to offer free visits to some of London's most inspiring historic sites for the communities we support.

A big thank you to Historic Royal Palaces for making experiences like this possible, and to everyone who joined us for such a fantastic day. We look forward to many more adventures together! ❤️

Our Ukrainian Summer Camp was filled with learning, creativity and unforgettable experiences! 💙💛

Throughout the week, children took part in a range of educational activities designed to build confidence, encourage curiosity and support their wellbeing. From creative art workshops and calming yoga sessions to an exciting boat trip exploring London's history and landmarks, every activity offered opportunities to learn, grow and make new friends.

A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers and tutors, whose enthusiasm and dedication made the camp such a success. Your support created a welcoming and inspiring environment for every child.

Thank you to our donors for making this programme possible. Camden Council’s grant allowed us to fund these educational activities. Thank you to our other funders for their constant support: Islington Council Islington Giving

Special thanks also go to Oksana Fomenko, our Gateway to Education Ukrainian Project Coordinator, whose hard work, care and organisation made the entire camp possible. 🌟

Together, we're helping young people build skills, confidence and lasting memories as they settle into life in the UK.

🎓 A Day of History, Inspiration, and Friendship in Cambridge!
Our incredible group of Ukrainian and Afghan teenagers spent an unforgettable day exploring the historic streets and colleges of Cambridge University. It was a journey bridging century of knowledge with bright, modern futures!
Here’s a glimpse into our day:
🏰 Walking Among Giants: We toured the iconic grounds of Trinity College and King’s College, soaking in the stunning architecture and rich history.
📚 Stepping Back in Time: In the famous Wren Library, we got to see Sir Isaac Newton's personal, original library collection.
🗿 The First "Book": The group was absolutely fascinated to see an ancient stone engraving—effectively one of the very first "books" in human history!
🎓 Student Life: We didn't just learn about the past; the teens discovered what life is like for modern Cambridge students today, sparking plenty of inspiration for their own educational journeys.
🕊️ A Huge Thank You: This beautiful day was kindly organized by Mosaic Afghanistan, an Afghan charity dedicated to supporting and empowering the community. Seeing these resilient young people from different backgrounds connect, share their stories, and look toward the future together is exactly what community is all about.
Thank you, Mosaic Global Foundation and everyone who made this inspiring day possible! 💛💙❤️🤝
