Women Empowerment Day September 2026!

Last week, we were delighted to support a fantastic Women Empowerment Day for Ukrainian refugee women alongside Central District Alliance.

The day brought together Ukrainian women with volunteers from companies including Sidara and Argus Media, who generously shared their time and expertise.

The programme included a panel discussion, CV and interview workshops, and plenty of opportunities for networking and connecting with professionals.

It was wonderful to see the women getting involved, asking questions, sharing experiences and supporting one another. The event was a great success and showed the value of bringing refugee women together with professional networks and employers.

A huge thank you to Central District Alliance, Sidara, Argus Media and all the volunteers who helped make the day possible - and, most importantly, to all the Ukrainian women who joined us.

We hope this is the beginning of many more opportunities to connect, learn and build confidence together.

Our colleagues at the Stronger Together Forum

Our colleagues Oksana and Taina represented HealthProm at the Stronger Together Forum: Second National Forum in the UK yesterday, bringing together leaders and representatives from Ukrainian community, charitable, cultural and civic organisations from across the UK.

The forum provided an important opportunity to share experiences, strengthen partnerships and discuss how organisations can continue supporting Ukrainian communities and maintaining strong connections between Ukraine and the UK.

Sessions explored advocacy and community collaboration, Ukrainian identity and culture, cultural and public diplomacy, engagement between Ukrainian and British organisations, and the role of business in creating social impact.

We’re pleased that Oksana and Taina were able to represent HealthProm at this important event and connect with organisations working to support Ukrainian communities across the UK!

A big thank you to the organisers and all the partners involved in bringing organisations together.

33 children achieved better school exam results through HealthProm’s Gateway to Education programme last year.

For children arriving in the UK after displacement, adapting to a new education system can be challenging. Our Gateway to Education programme provides Afghan and Ukrainian children and young people with English and Maths tuition, GCSE support, wellbeing activities and opportunities to build confidence and connections.

As a new school year begins, we want to make sure more children can access the support they need to learn and thrive.

💙 You can help us continue this work by supporting our Back to School fundraiser.

Every contribution helps us provide educational and wellbeing support to refugee children and young people in London.

Help refugee children start the school year with confidence. Your donation will support vital learning resources, educational activities and opportunities for Afghan, Ukrainian and other children to learn, grow and thrive.

What does HealthProm actually do?

For more than 20 years, HealthProm has worked alongside women, children and families facing disadvantage. From communities in Afghanistan and Central Asia to refugee and migrant communities in London.

Our work has evolved over the years, but our purpose remains the same: helping people build healthier, safer and more hopeful futures.

Today, our work includes:

Education: supporting children and young people through supplementary education, English and Maths tuition, GCSE support and learning opportunities for girls in Afghanistan.

Healthcare: improving access to maternal, child and community healthcare in underserved communities in Afghanistan.

Health & wellbeing: providing wellbeing activities, mental health support and health education.

Skills & employment: helping refugee and migrant women in London build skills, confidence and pathways into employment.

Community support: creating welcoming spaces where people can learn, connect and build confidence.

While Afghanistan and London are at the heart of our work today, our international experience goes much further. In the future, we hope to develop new programmes and partnerships in other countries where our expertise can make a difference.

Follow our page to see more of the people and communities behind our work, and the difference we’re making together. 💚
