With temperatures soaring across the UK this week this is our reminder to the good people of the UK that nature was built for this 💪 🌾

We need to stay focused on prioritising saving water day to day, especially during periods of hot, dry weather.

So take this as your official reminder: A golden lawn is not a dead lawn 👏 Tell your friends, partners and neighbours.

Grass is surprisingly resilient and naturally slows down in hot weather. It turns brown and golden not because it’s dead, but because it’s protecting itself from the heat, and it will bounce back to green once cooler, wetter weather returns

So skip the sprinkler, let the lawn rest, and help save water when it matters most!

Water Saving Week showed what’s possible when people come together 💪🌍

But this can’t be a one-off moment. Understanding and improving water efficiency is essential for the UK to make sure supply can keep up with rising demand, which at the moment it isn’t on track to do. But that can change,
we can turn this around.

Be part of the change with Waterwise events. From workplace training and free webinars that helps teams and individuals better understand water use in the UK and take action at work and at home, to our annual conference and expert webinars that challenge thinking and drive the change needed.

We’re a work-from-home team, so we know remote working can be a bit of a mixed bag sometimes. There’s a lot to love about it, but it’s also important to check in with yourself and make sure you’re getting what you need, whether that’s social interaction, fresh air, movement, or simply remembering to properly switch off at the end of the day.

For Mental Health Awareness Week, we wanted to share a few of our team’s go-to WFH habits 💙

Ponies doing water work? Yes, you read that right 🐎

In East Sussex, rare Exmoor ponies are helping restore chalk grasslands by grazing invasive tor grass, and in doing so supporting healthier ecosystems and cleaner groundwater.

The River Clyde was once described as “a zombie river.” 🧟‍♂️

Today, wildlife is returning, from fish and birds to otters and seals. Its recovery is a powerful reminder that rivers can come back to life when given the chance, and why protecting them matters.

Our latest blog explores the Clyde’s transformation, the incredible work happening through the Living River Project, and the hidden connection between everyday water use and river health.
