Future Dreams Future Dreams was started in 2008 by mother and daughter Sylvie Henry and Danielle Leslie.

We offer a wide range of in-person and online services providing practical, emotional and psychological support for those diagnosed with breast cancer, fund vital secondary breast cancer research, and promote breast health awareness. By a cruel twist of fate, they were both diagnosed with Breast Cancer, Danielle just 35 and a mother of 3 young children. Tragically both women lost their lives to th

e disease within a year of each other in 2009. Since 2008 we have continued their legacy to raise over £6.5m for support, awareness and research.

Today would have been our Co-Founder, Sylvie Henry’s 79th birthday.

Alongside her beloved daughter, Danielle, Sylvie founded Future Dreams in 2008 after they both experienced breast cancer and understood the impact it had on individuals and their families.

Sylvie was a vibrant, determined and passionate woman, a devoted mother, grandmother and friend, and a talented dance teacher who inspired hundreds of young people over more than 30 years.

Inspired by Eleanor Roosevelt’s words, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams,” Sylvie chose the words Future Dreams to reflect the vision she shared with Danielle.

Today, we celebrate Sylvie and the incredible legacy she created. Happy birthday, Sylvie. 💗

Cording is a common side effect after breast cancer surgery, but it's not something many people are told about.

In this reel, our Breast Care Nurse Jackie explains what cording is, why it can happen after surgery, and what can help improve the symptoms.

If you're experiencing tightness, pain or a pulling sensation in your arm or underarm, you don't have to just put up with it. If you have any concerns or notice new or worsening symptoms, make sure to speak to your medical team for advice.

This week on And Then Came Breast Cancer, Victoria is joined by Dr Liz O'Riordan, a former consultant breast surgeon who has faced cancer three times and Jacquie Beltrao, who is living with secondary breast cancer - to talk all about breast cancer myths.
