Job opportunity as a Cafe Assistant at The Platform Cafe

🔈 We’re hiring! We’re looking for a Cafe Assistant to join our team for an immediate start.

The Platform Cafe is a community cafe in Loughborough Junction, and we’re looking for a friendly, reliable person to help us serve great coffee and food while keeping the cafe running smoothly ☕️

No experience? No problem. We warmly encourage applications from anyone in the Loughborough Junction community, whatever your background, full training provided.

The details:

✳️ Part time (casual/flexible hours)

✳️ £14.80/hour

✳️ Front-of-house, barista, and food service duties

Our beach trip to Camber Sands was definitely one to remember! 🌊

Despite the wind and some very determined seagulls, the children had a brilliant time paddling in the sea, playing on the beach and making some lovely memories 🏖️

A huge thank you to our amazing staff, parents and carers who helped make the day possible, and to everyone who donated to our crowdfunder. Your support helped make this trip happen, and we’re so grateful ❤️

We had a brilliant time at Clip 'n Climb Wandsworth 🧗‍♀️

Climbing is a great way for children to build confidence, challenge themselves, develop coordination and strength, and support teamwork and resilience - all while having lots of fun!

We went to the summer fair Ebony Horse Club special thanks to Shanice for hosting us. Loads of happy faces. Loughborough Farm & Wyck Forest Garden bringing the community alongside and good to see Helen Hayes answering some of the young people’s questions.

🚲 Call for bike donations!

We’re looking for donated bikes & bike parts for our community bike project 🔧

We’re seeking bikes of all sizes (ages 6 through to adult) and spare bike parts and accessories.

Your donation will help local children learn to ride with confidence, fix and maintain their own bikes, and build practical skills and independence.

📍 Drop off your donations at Grove Adventure Playground, 18 Gordon Grove:

🗓 Saturdays 10am–4pm
🗓 Tuesdays 10am–5:30pm
🗓 Wednesdays 12–5:30pm
