Ebony Horse Club is a charity improving the life skills, education and aspirations of children and young people growing up in deprived communities in Brixton, South London, by providing access to horse riding, outdoor activities and mentoring.

☀️ Thinking back to sunnier days on this drizzly September morning ☀️ We had such a fun summer, which we of course had to round off with our annual residential trip and horsey holiday! ⛱️ Thank you to everyone who makes trips like this possible, it was the best year yet! 👏

🏆 Number 1 on the list of things we’re grateful for this month… our incredible team of volunteers 💕 Our Ebony volunteers truly keep our planet spinning so we had a day to celebrate them and their contribution in the late summer sunshine 💕 We couldn’t do what we do without them… in the last year alone they’ve provided over 25,000 hours of support to young people in Brixton! How incredible are they?!

A special thanks to Ella, Jane & Rachel, our lovely staff, for making sure everyone had the best time! 🤗

It is with profound sadness that we share with you the news that our beloved Chairman, Julian White has passed away.

Having joined Ebony as a volunteer more than 25 years ago, Julian was an incredible man who changed the lives of so many young people in Brixton. He believed so passionately in every single Ebony member who walked through our gates. An endlessly generous man, who would do anything for anyone.

We will remember Julian as a kind and deeply humble man, with the biggest smile and most infectious laugh in every room. We will miss him terribly 💚

👑 What a day yesterday was! For those that missed it, here’s last nights coverage from 💚 We feel so incredibly lucky to have Her Majesty the Queen as our president, and even luckier that we got to celebrate our AMAZING young people, volunteers, staff & ponies alongside her 👏 A huge thank you to everyone who makes every day possible here at Ebony ⭐️ Here’s to the next 30 years! 🥳

🏆 This weekend some of our amazing young people spent 2 days learning all about showing. They put so much work into learning how to care for and plait their manes and tails and we think they did an amazing job! 👏 They absolutely smashed the dressage tests they learnt, and we’re so proud of their hard work 💚 Make sure you swipe to enjoy Ronnies post-show perm 😂 We think it suits him!

Our favourite day of the year! 💕 Those of you who have followed Ebony for a while will know just how special Allegra's Ambition is to us 💕 We’re so lucky that every year so many brilliant people bring along their ponies for us to have the best day ever in the countryside 🐴 Thank you to all of the volunteers who give their time, horses & lots of cake 🧁 And a very special thanks to Lucy, who makes this all possible ❣️ We love you all, thank you for such a special day!

⭐️ Not only do we have a very talented team of young people and ponies, we’ve also got some very talented staff members 💕 Theo joined us on work experience a couple of years ago, and never left! 👏 He now works with our horses and has just passed his British Horse Society Stage 1! 🥇 We’re so proud of Theo… Stage 2 next! 😉
