Meet Maimouna ⭐️

Maimouna came to Baytree as a graduate looking for support with her CV and finding employment, but found so much more.

Baytree has helped her to build confidence and develop professional skills, and is now a proud member of our Women’s Council supporting other women on their own journeys.

Not the leaders of tomorrow. The girls at Baytree are already leading.

Today is International Youth Day, and this year’s theme is Difference Contexts, Common Aspirations. Our girls come from all over. Different countries, different circumstances, different starting points. What they want is the same: to be heard, to be trusted, to have a say in their own futures. 🎙️

Youth leadership only means something when it changes what happens next. That is why our Youth Council has a genuine say in shaping our programmes, rather than just an opinion on them.

We have written about what that looks like in practice, and how you can support the girls behind it. Link in bio 🔗

For the past two years, Baytree has been a part of Victoria’s journey. 🌿

Victoria found herself navigating through a challenging time in her life. Looking for support, she came to Baytree and found a welcoming community that helped her.

Today, Baytree continues to support both Victoria and her daughter, whether that’s help navigating everyday challenges or providing a space where they feel supported and connected.

Stories like Victoria’s remind us why Baytree exists. Every woman and girl deserves access to a community where they can find guidance and know that they’re never facing life’s challenges alone.

If you’d like to help women like Victoria, find out more via the link in our bio. 🫂

That’s a wrap on our Summer term! 🎉

Last week, our girls took centre stage at our end of term showcase, sharing what they’d made, what they’d learned and what they’d loved with the people who matter most to them.

Watching them present their work with pride, certificates in hand and families cheering them on, was the perfect way to close out the term. We are so proud! 🩷

Last month, girls from Baytree and local colleges joined the Baytree Centre X Employability Bootcamp, closing the gap between ambition and access one connection at a time. 🌍

Employability is about exposure, access and belief and this bootcamp gave 30 young women all three.

Huge thanks to Baytree’s and WONDER’s partners, including Refractis, Mott Macdonald, Rothschild, PIMCO, Jacob’s and Google for making the week so incredible!

Every girls deserves someone in her corner. 💌

Our Youth Mentoring Programme pairs girls aged 10-18 with a trained volunteer mentor, meeting one to one every week. In those sessions, girls have a safe space to build confidence, explore challenges and set goals for their future.

For many girls, having a consistent, trusted adult who shows up for them every week can be genuinely life-changing.

One of our mentors puts it perfectly: “She always wants to tell me if she’s got a good grade or if she’s been picked out for something in school. It’s lovely that I can act as a cheerleader and help her celebrate all of her little wins.”

And the numbers speak for themselves. Of the 100+ girls we support through mentoring:
📚91% showed improved academic engagement
🫂93% showed improved wellbeing
⭐️97% showed increased aspiration
