NICE has recommended AGAINST making lenacapavir – a twice-yearly injectable form of PrEP – available for HIV prevention in England and Wales. This is profoundly disappointing.

We have only a few weeks left to convince NICE, NHS England and Gilead, the drug's manufacturer, to come together and find a solution. Make your voice heard and sign our petition today!

Twice-yearly injectable PrEP could be a game-changing tool in the fight to end new HIV cases by 2030. It would increase choice for people who cannot take PrEP as a pill and people who cannot risk having a bottle of PrEP pills found around the house - for example, people with controlling partners or homophobic family members.

We cannot repeat the mistakes made with oral PrEP, when delays and barriers to access meant people missed out on vital HIV prevention. If the UK is serious about ending new HIV cases and tackling the inequalities that continue to drive the epidemic, we need every effective prevention tool available.
