Lisa, a lecturer at Buckingham Uni, invites you to complete an anonymous online survey which takes around 15-20 minutes. It explores the way that people with chronic pelvic pain understand their identity. In particular, it explores whether this is linked to social support, mental health, pain beliefs, living according to values and the impact of pain on day-to-day life.

The Patients Association is holding a focus group to understand patients’ experience of short notice cancellations of surgery.
There are many reasons why short notice cancellations occur, such as the patient decides not to have the surgery (patient choice), the necessary pre-surgery screenings and assessments (e.g., blood tests, consultation with specialists) were not done in time to clear the patient for surgery, acute medical conditions such as a respiratory infection made it too risky to do the surgery, or lack of theatre capacity (bed/staff shortage).

The online focus group will be held on June 24th. Participants will receive an £80 voucher.
If interested, fill in this form:

It is open until 5th June!

How does your partner help/cope?

You will be eligible if you are:
• Aged 18 years old or over,
• In a relationship of 6 months or longer
• Living together or spend most days/nights of the week in the same household,

You will be invited to join a one-off, on-line focus group.

Do you have a child aged 12-24 with chronic pain in their joints, muscles, bones, tendons or ligaments? Georgina is working on a study into young people’s experiences with their chronic pain and they’d love to talk to such people about how they manage their pain and what self management looks like to them 😊

Georgina is a young person with chronic pain in most of her joints due to EDS and CRPS, and is trying to improve healthcare experiences for people with conditions like her. Me and another young person have been doing the interviews and so far it’s been incredible hearing so many different experiences but we’re looking for as many as we can!

If you’d like more information you can visit our website: https://inspiremsk.stir.ac.uk/

And you can contact the lead researcher at: [email protected] if you need more info.

Difficulty sleeping? Read on:

Researchers at the University of Cambridge, alongside Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Bitbrain, are recruiting UK adults with chronic pain and poor sleep for the LALABY study.
The research is investigating whether a lightweight EEG headband worn at home, together with gentle personalised pink-noise stimulation during sleep, may help improve sleep quality and daytime wellbeing. Participants will complete home-based sleep monitoring and brief daily wellbeing recordings over several weeks, with full support from the research team. The study is non-invasive and entirely voluntary.
